Feathery Asshole. Day was nice enough for him to go outside.

Just a story about an African Gray I used to birdsit a long time ago named Gandalf.

Little asshole hated everything, but it wasn't a violent hate, more like a perpetually irritated and dismissive hate as though he was above all worldly things. The little asshole had no real interest in his toys, never wanted to interact with anyone, would turn his own food dish over to make cleaning his cage an even bigger pain in the ass out of what I assume to be spite and had at most only a passing interest in leaving his cage and exploring the house.

The one thing, the ONLY thing this little asshole seemed to do to amuse himself was torment the poor dog by INCESSANTLY calling its name and doing it in as many different people's voices as it could to confuse the fuck out of it.

He did this constantly and it seemed to be the only thing that put him in as close as he ever got to a good or friendly mood.

I miss that grumpy, sadistic asshole.

There's a starling stricken with ataxia who comes into the yard to eat. He waddles around like a drunken duck flapping his wings to stay balanced. Other than that he seems ok. He isn't being bullied and eats just fine. I don't know if ataxia is painful. But it must feel weird to waddle around like that.

Potato camera finally got a picture of one of these damned yellow rumpled warblers! Still a shit picture, but at least you can see the yellow on its ass.

Out walking today, saw two indigo buntings. Unfortunately they were far too fast for potato phone to get a picture. Enjoy a stock photo instead.

Here's a slightly more recent picture of Nelson the Kea parrot.
