Wow it only took them, what, 11 years? It is really a sad commentary on the state of the modern viewing audience that this thing is only just now being discontinued.

Thank christ. I was so tired of older middle aged moms ranting about how funny the show is and how Sheldon Cooper is the key to understanding how autistic people work or some bullshit like that.

Gotta post this just because of the cringe.

You called it "nerd blackface" which makes me think you have collector's edition inhalers or some shit. It is literally just like every other sitcom. This is the exact opposite of A-logging.
No, I think it's partially responsible for the influx of people pretending to be interested in science (ex. the I fucking love science FB group etc) and shitting up things like comic books with posers.

Plus like I said, the only people I knew who watched it were hipster douchbags who would think they know about science because they heard something from that show. Besides, I think their asshole audience has already moved on to Rick and Morty.

BTW, I was kidding about the a-log thing.

The only people I knew that watched it were older people. I think it had a pretty weird overall demographic.

I think it all fueled the "nerd culture" marketing trend where being a geek means you needed to buy copious amounts of low quality Chinese merchandise. There were other factors in this (MCU, etc) but BBT helped push the "geek as mindless consumer" into the mainstream.

In other words...
