The Amazing Digital Circus - Western Isekai that probably will become Hazbin Hotel killer
Another problem is that this is supposed to be the real world, but somehow you have a tech company that has created brain scanning technology that has just been left there?
That seems almost like it's a set-up for spin-off Digital Circus's or other shows set in the same universe. In fact that seems like it'd be the perfect premise for anyone who actually has some writing gumption to make a 'proper' Digital Circus.
Honestly don’t give gooseworx your money and watch popee the performer instead, it has not even a hundredth of the budget that this series has and doesn’t even have fucking voice acting yet is way funnier and does more with its characters that the series is trying to ape. A single episode is darker than anything the series delves into and is way funnier with much more limited resources at their disposal
TADC is just a distilled version of much better internet properties that have been made before it but had enough broad appeal and funding to go mainstream, it’s not terrible by any means but has so much less than the stuff it takes inspiration from. Having fanfic writers become mainstream creators is the worst thing that could ever happen to media and why so little to substance is ever created anymore.
Real media literacy is now trying to discern which digital circus member would survive in the ring with mike Tyson.
I think zooble has a chance given they were the one to permakill jax via pulling pomni out before he got cured of abstraction. Just get like real muscular zooble arms and there'd be some fair game.

I completely forgot that that one dog guy had the visual gag of his mask falling off whenever his expression changed, gangle's comedy mask BS is like just a shittier version of that because she's always depressed visibly even with the "comedy mask" on with the only difference really being she doesn't have tears coming out on the comedy mask one.
(Really great that Gooseworx had to throw a bit of bait to get people to draw porn of Pomni and the frog girl fucking at the very last minute by the way)
So Jax actually is a tranny? I thought the "she" in "Isn't She Lovely" was Pomni, the main character of the fucking show and the main talk-no-jutsu user, rather than Gooseworx's self insert.
I can see it honestly. Like even an actually depowered caine (which we don't see despite him claiming to be depowered) could bite tyson pretty hard even if it'd count as a foul.
The finale is fine and the show is decent. Nobody should have come into this expecting a big battle or climax. That would have been worse and against what the show was building up to. If anything, the previous episode before the finale should be seen as the action part of the story.
The Jax part of the ending was also probably the best part of the ending. The whole point of the show is that you are defined by your experiences and the people around you. The Jax of the Circus being an utter piece of shit and the IRL Jax managing to get through it was actually kinda interesting. Jax and the friends in the show literally failed.
I joked about this earlier, but the show actually does have a very Christian informed idea of redemption. Going by all of his actions in the show he's just an irredeemable piece of shit who did little good to make up for it, but Pomni obviously saw him worthy as saving for his unseen virtues he rarely expressed and the IRL version shows that she was right. All he had to do was change. Friendship wasn't enough to save him or fix everything (but a job was apparently lol). It is a unique look into suicide and mental breakdowns.
Regardless, I am not going to say the show was great or even especially good, but it was not a show I regret watching in the first place.

I think the show was fine, creatively interesting even. But definitely not the best written. So many plot hooks that got left unanswered, and the finale felt too "feelsy" for me. I was expecting the circus to begin falling apart and it was a scramble to try and fix the problem. I think Caine coming back and suddenly being fixed and remorseful, was ham-fisted af.
There is a good lesson of redemption and change. Jax never redeemed himself in the circus, but his IRL version was able to find people who accept him. That he got a good circle of friends to uplift him. He got a job and is doing better, whereas his digital self was scanned at the moment he hurt his mother and is a guilt-riddled mess. Pomni sees value in other people and tries to reach out to others even when they don't really deserve it.
Jax isn't redeemed, hell he is the reason his friends fell to madness because he couldn't allow himself to be vulnerable and trust others to not lord it over him. But we just understand where he was coming from.

I'm just glad they didn't explicitly confirm Jax as a troon, which is a surprising level of restraint on Gooseworx's part considering that trannies love making every single thing they create about how heckin' trans they are and how you should totally blackmarket yourself some troonshine and hide it from your parents, kids!, so gold star on managing to maintain that baseline level of public decency. Sure, they dropped hint after hint that he was, but coming just short of confirming it at least allows for alternative readings, which again is more restraint than I expected with the writer being what they are. 2/6 of the human characters are already LGBT with Zooble being a (still clearly female) nonbinary and Gangle being dripping wet for her, so bumping it up to a full half would've just been gratuitous, especially since that would leave Kinger as the only male human of the entire cast. Leaving it to interpretation doesn't bother me (in regards to the story itself, but see below for more), whereas outright coming out and saying he's le heckin' girl would've just been the Celeste/Bridget/Vivian retcon bullshit all over again.
According to another recent post by Gooseworx, the character Jax's real-life self in the show is a boymoder (closeted troon) who goes by Lee instead of his given name Leeroy.
Seems he is bent on clearing up any remaining debate about whether the character is a tranny.
Oh my god Nooseworx won't even let IRL Jax alone from his molestation, its like watching troons ruin an existing property in real time, but it's actually a troon original and they're actively trying to ruin any good bits of the property it did have . Why the fuck has nobody at glitch tried to tard wrangle this tranny when its thier job and all of the higher ups have the ability to say "hey, cut that shit out!"
The fact Gangle, whom he has tormented relentlessly from day one cried for him in the end and in an interview with the voice actress at the screening, apparently the original idea was for her to sob and wail uncontrollably proves otherwise. They also added his face next to his friends (that he pushed to abstraction) on a mural together. I think in Gooseworx's mind Jax really was redeemed by fucking off and abstracting. After all, the circus denizens are a truly forgiving bunch seeing how they let Caine hangout with them after torturing them for years (and decades in Kinger's case) and they all became BFFs after.

Wouldnt ribbit be his groomer geriatric wife (since shes encouraging trooning and also seemingly trying to smash what seems to be a teen as someone most likely in their 20s)? Bridgitte even sounds a bit similar to Ribbit
Also poor leeroy probably only developed gender dysphoria in the first place bc his mom was using him as a substitute for his dad, this dudes life is just endless grooming for both real him and his copy
If I had a nickel for every time something meant to be a pro-trans allegory was so poorly thought out that it ended up conveying the opposite message by accident, I’d have two nickels. First “I Saw The TV Glow” and now this shit with Jax.
In my opinion no show that depicts a sex scene, even if it was shown behind doors, and features a character asking to have sexual organs to have sex should be labeled "for kids".
I raise my eyebrow at the realistic strangulation scene too, and other things I don't think kids should be looking at or hear like the swearing, but those two are by far worse.
Whomever did those ratings failed to all the these kids.
I feel like the trans Jax shit was made up after-the-fact, as one final discourse bomb to throw into the endless abyss that is the Amazing Digital Circus fandom to make sure this show is unbearable to talk about for the next 10 years.
I'm still pissed about the writing. And now Jax's final line is getting my side eye. "I don't want to go." I'm not saying this was directly lifted from David Tennant, but considering how derivative this entire show was, it wouldn't surprise me. I have no proof and I must sneed.
Has no one pointed out that ‘Isn’t She Lovely’ by Steve ‘Blind as a Bat’ Wonder is not about romantic love but about love of a father for his newborn daughter?

And then they ignore the creator when they say a character isn't LGBTQ. Saw something similar happen with the guy behind that ladybug show saying the MC isn't bisexual.
Y'know something that makes no sense to me now that I'm thinking about it.
What happened with C&A's employees on the outside, why'd they go under? Why'd they not take their brainscans home with them? They're on a computer program, surely they could've moved these computers and programs around to new locations. What was the Circus like when they were working there? It seems really stupid and out-of-character for someone like Kinger or Queener to scan themselves in and not take a mote of interest in their digital selves. I know thats not the point of the show, but these are 90's computer geeks, did none of C&A's employees bother to try and play with their simulated selves like a fucked up version of Tomodachi Life? Were the early adventures made by employees entering prompts? Were NPC's the way they'd interact with the Circus? Given they're brain scans who think they're the actual people inside the circus, would it mindfuck them to have their real flesh-and-blood selves talk with them?
So yesterday I watched the finale on jewtube, and I want to share my opinion.
It was just so empty, devoid of anything. Just meaningless trauma dumping. All the other characters outside of Jax and Pomni were just left behind. Goose, if you wanted a self-insert fantasy, why didn't you make Jax the main characters in the first episode? I didn't give a shit about this therapy.
Overall, I give it a 5/10. Troons are such narcissists I swear.
Edit: And let's not forget all the forgotten plot points and how Caine managed to do all of his shit but I guess Nooseworx was too busy drilling ximself to remember that.
That and the retroactive "jax is a truck driver because he wanted to rive the delivery truck in the one adventure and zooble runs a gay bar as a bartender because of one brief offhand mention of it being one of several odd jobs they had to make money in the past even though that episode literally frames it like it wasn't something they saw as their main career and just did for a bit before moving to some other job.
Episode 9 really did pull all the didney star wars stops huh
