I choose to interpret this as: Everyone in the circus is a retard and their tiny mind files are only big enough to share a handful of brain cells between them all. Many moments in the series make a lot more sense now.

I pissed off Razorfist (or at least his moderators and fans) in his YouTube comments. Once with Battletech, and once with cyberpunk. Pointing out media that predates them as influences will make some fans seeth. eg. Terminator and Black Magic M66 are basically the same movie, with BM coming out first. There are other media like comics that supposedly had the killer robot plot too.
Battletech is more of a rabbit hole, but seeing some fans trying to hand wave away them taking designs from various manga and anime, as well as claiming that 40k ripped of BT (sorry BT fans, the predecessor to 40k was a zine called Laserburn that predates Battledroids).
My point is, everything in TADC has been done before, it's just a case of execution. It's telling that in the last ten or so pages, TADC is supposedly a rip off of Twilight Zone, Lost, I Have No Mount And I Must Scream, and some toys from the 90s. Which is it?

I could be wrong, but I read somewhere (I think it was KF) that a lot of the elements people associate with the story are from the game. I think that's where the yellow rapist stuff comes from? It's been a while since I read the original story. Iirc it's a short story, and yet it finds time to detail the sex lives of the various characters.

AM is just the digitized version of Eliot Roger, and humanity's last laugh making the machine a turboangst incel virgin for all eternity sounds more like unintentional comedy than anything else. I actually really like this interpretation, I always just thought Benny was manipulated mentally by AM into being attracted to a woman, almost as another layer of torment. Also, the game also tries to be more edgy with Gorrister being a Nazi scientist under Mengela, so you're completely right on the "gotta make it more edgy" thing you mentioned before, all the adaptations have slight to major differences in weird ways.

There is no actual "ape rape" in the game lol. Ellen's backstory changes to a rape victim who is afraid of elevators and the color yellow since those were associated with her trauma. AM tries to recreate the encounter and shame her for never telling the police, but you have Ellen fight back and realize it was all an illusion and she had no reason to be afraid anymore.
I believe the writer (who is AM's voice btw) wanted the game to be unwinable but they told him that was dumb, so he changed the characters and story to be more hopeful and there is a real good ending where humanity has a chance.
Circling back to TADC, an old point and click game did a much better job showcasing the cast's flaws and overcoming their flaws in much less time than TADC ever did. It makes sense cause it was AM's trap but Goose never used this method to his favour. everyone in the cast simply randomly vents their issues at one another.
