The Amazing Digital Circus - Western Isekai that probably will become Hazbin Hotel killer
I was entirely unfamiliar with this show. When I looked up pictures of the characters, it really struck me how bad the character design is except for Pomni. It's like he did Pomni and was like "this is great, now for the rest" and just threw together the most low-effort slop.
"Oh yeah we'll have one that's just like a bunch of abstract shapes like those 90s carpet squiggles."
"Oh and another one that's just like a piece of ribbon."
"This one is a rabbit. That's it."
"Uhhh I see a chess set over on my bookshelf. I guess one guy can be like a chess piece or something."
"Ok and this one will just be a raggedy ann doll."
"And I'll just rip off Felix Colgrave for the last guy."
My personal grievance with both the character designs and the environment design is that it looks like it's from a baby preschool show, even though the show is supposed to be "mature".
It's not like in Happy Tree Friends where the kiddy art style is deliberately contrasted with shocking bloody violence to make it more funny - TADC is supposed to be dead serious.
Unfortunately, it's hard to take the writer's psuedo-philosophical ramblings seriously when they're coming from the mouth of an knock-off Oswald The Lucky Rabbit or a cutesy Raggedy Ann doll.
That's why it's so funny to me whenever people are shocked that so many parents took their tots to see the movie. Like what were you expecting? It looks like a Nick Jr show! Of course little kids are gonna be drawn to it like flies to honey, and unassuming parents will think it's just another Toy Story [several of the characters are fashioned after playthings, after all].
A while ago, I was looking around on Pinterest and I stumbled upon these cool fan redesigns of Pomni, Kinger, and Jax.
In my opinion, these designs are an objective improvement over the originals. There is a very obvious Alice In Wonderland influence here, and I adore the elegant fairy tale aesthetic that the artist went with.
1.) Pomni is more dainty and dignified. She looks less like a play-doh creature and more like a real court jester.
2.) Kinger has a more distinctive silhouette, and I like that his wide shouldered, hunched-over build makes him look like he's carrying a heavy burden on his back.
3.) Jax is more angular and sleek looking, and I love that he looks like a hybrid of the White Rabbit and the Cheshire Cat. His more subtle mischievious smirk looks much better here, in contrast with the original version's massive-shit eating grin.
I also feel that they would fit right in with the mysterious, dream-like environments seen in many 90's 3d renders, as well as games like American McGee's Alice [the quintessential Dark Fairy Tale game].
If the show looked like this, I think it would be much easier to take seriously without losing any whimsy.
Lmfao looking at comments on this SLOP video not even worth embedding shows how desperate people are to lie to themselves that their hyperfixation didn't go to literary shit. I will never understand that kind of despair. It's not a bad thing to have standards for media; in fact, it's encouraged. People need to understand they sincerely deserve better.
It really speaks volumes about the "quality" of the movie when most people can only talk about how much the theater stinks like shit or how the creator fanbase is eating itself alive.
Having to defend Gooseworx by saying "you need to touch grass" when the movie itself rejects that very message.
I managed to find a video where Null and PPP watch 3 episodes of TADC.
Not only did Null predict how this show would fall apart, but PPP, on the other hand, was utterly disgusted with TADC, calling it the equivalent of being stuck in hell, and by the end, PPP said that everyone involved in this show should kill themselves, all the while being utterly depressed that children will grow up with this show.

I sat next to two black gentlemen at the theatre, and was worried they were going to be talking on their phones the entire time, since I've had this happen to me at the same theatre previously, but the only noises they made were eating their snacks and no one can be faulted for that.
Anyway, the ending was pretty good. I wouldn't have shown their real human selves, but it's a bold artistic choice I can respect.

BITCH, NO. You can whine about people 'assuming all animation is for kids' all you want, but it has an especially immature artstyle compared to something like idk persepolis or something. And its not like sausage party where its R-rated and the title is an obvious genital pun, either. The amazing digital circus sounds like a kids show and its in theatres at pg13/12a.
And aside from a few minor moments, it is basically a kids show. Especially episodes 1-8. You can plop this shit on Cartoon Network with minimal adjustments. All of its 'dark/mature' themes have been done before at the same level in kids shows like steven universe, adventure time, atla, even total drama. It has the same TVPG rating in the US as Steven Universe. Even Zooble saying the word sex wouldve probably passed on euro/canadian tv up until recently. Glitch is selling official merch in toy stores, for christs sake.
Unless a parent is watching 100% of an episode (and even then not even all episodes have it) itll absolutely look like a kids show, because anything actually not childfriendly is few and far between. Even caines crashout was extremely mild compared to the shit hirch was able to get bill cipher to do in gravity falls.
