The Amazing Digital Circus - Western Isekai that probably will become Hazbin Hotel killer
Dude, not even TV Tropes can make a solid case for the Trans Jax Theory. That's how hard Goose botched his self-insert hahaha. Source | Archive
I'm sure that commie Danish faggot will still make a six-hour video explaining how heckin' valid and masterful this waste of time was (he's been pushing the Trans Jax and SOMA shit fucking hard, as if he was the first person to come up with the ideas), when he's not busy crying about Jschlatt supporting MUH LITERAL FASCIST NAZIS (seriously, he even deleted his reaction to the Gameoverse trailer in protest lol).
You mean, write the lore for Liam because like 99% of the lore is apparently intentionally left out according to the fans.
Very interesting cope on their part. People always come up with the dumbest shit to justify bad writing for some reason. >The writing isn't bad! The creator left the story vague on purpose! That's why there's no story! It's not because the writer can't write! It was an intentional creative decision!
Lowkey reminds me of some of the copes I've heard about Metal Gear Solid 5's ending. >IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE EMPTY AND MEANINGLESS, THAT'S THE POINT, YOU JUST DIDN'T GET IT, CHUD!
Also is the show implying Zooble is real trans and Jax is fake trans??? Bc Caine created the avatars based on brainscans/mindfiles, and he gave Zooble a gender neutral (slightly feminine-leaning) avatar but gave Jax a male one and most female characters an obviously female one (pomni, ragatha, ribbits ridiculous ass, queenie).
Plus real them having Jax be an emoboy named Leeroy all these years later even while going to a gay bar every night, while Zooble is at least a butch with a gender neutral name. Lol.
Maybe he was so troubled in the circus bc there was no way to deny to himself that he actually wasnt a girl on the inside after all with actual undisputable proof in front of him and so maybe-killed his mom for nothing.
The thing about Jax is that his IRL self ended up sane and normal despite still being in a socially accepted lgbt circle of friends, meaning that Leroy was always a cis male and Jax's issue isn't gender related but masculinity insecurity and crossdressing.
This is me guessing but since Leroy is (or at least looks) well adjusted, i will take a gamble and say he did not actually kill his mom and might even be on good or at least neutral terms with her. Ribbit's police comment was retarded in context but if Leroy DID kill his mom, i think he would know about it and would've breakdown and suicid like jax did.
Jax only "makes sense" if we assume his brain was scanned shortly after pushing his mom and running from home, so he doesn't know if he killed his mom and THIS is why he can't go back, he is too scared of finding out. He is in a perpetual state of guilty and paranoia, thus he could never fully trust the others like Leroy does. Much like Gangle is perpetually sad because she was scanned after a car crash that might've been a suicide attempt.
I think this is also why they don't mention his mother being alive or not because if Leroy killed her then it would sound like jax deserved and if he didn't then Jax abstracted for nothing which would be too hilariously tragic.
Or maybe i'm overthinking and goose simply wanted to say IRL jax is fine to have a good end.
The idea that these characters other than pomni have ruined lifes and deep inside don't even want to escape this digital prison would make for an interesting premise/conflict that, in the end, wasn't explored at all.
If these were actual characters instead of fragments of a narcissistic tranny's demented psyche. This cast of characters would be built around a core central theme of "how do you cope in a world where your emotional baggage can and will kill you". Pomni can be the straightman as her coping strategy makes her really proactive (it motivates her to look for clues or maybe poke holes in Caine's adventure). While the other characters have really unhealthy coping strategy (Toxic positivity, nihilism, emotional mood swings, constant reddit snark, insanity) and they can each get an episode. Now they're characters instead of delusional escapism.
That would have improved the last episode. Show how everyone copes differently from learning about being a brain scan trapped in the circus forever. But they all just collectively cried, hugged, got over it (Jax was the only exception), and that was that. I would have loved to see the different personalities handling it in different ways.
So..I guess nothing came from the headlights with Jax. The implication of him being in a car accident and/or hitting someone was really just for nothing.

TADC is so much worse about it. Idk, I haven't watched Murder Drones because I took one look at it and said "I'm not a 14 year old scene girl so I don't think this is for me." (I may change my mind later lol) But from what people who've watched it tell me, there are some unanswered questions but they're less like incoherent mysteries and more just things left open-ended but you can make a reasonable enough explanation for just from what you get. "What happened to humanity? They're probably all dead, but there might be like one or two surviving colonies if they ever wanna take the story in that direction." etc.
TADC's unanswered mysteries don't even give you enough to do that. Why is there an abandoned building that still has enough energy to power a VR supercomputer for decades? Dunno. What happened to C&A? Dunno. How does abstraction even work? Dunno. Why do abstraction monsters have a bunch of eyes that seem to correspond with the eye colors of all the other abstractions? Dunno. Why was Ribbit's ghost haunting Jax? Dunno.
People will write it off as "lore" but this so, so clearly isn't that. Lore is small worldbuilding stuff that isn't important but makes the world feel more alive. This is all shit the show went out of its way to set up, draw attention to and devout precious screentime and script space for, and it don't add up to a hill o' beans.
Roger Ebert once said the film Law Abiding Citizen was "The kind of movie you will like more at the time than in retrospect." and I think the Digital Circus movie will be like that for some people. Especially when they go back and rewatch the whole series.
Okay so you literally don't know what I'm talking about, that explains it.
I'd recommend at least watching it if you're intending on discussing why it sucks. I like to at least have watched a thing once before engaging in earnest discussion about it.
To be honest, I think the only reason I ended up sitting through the entire thing is because I couldn't look away, the old can't look away from the crashing train effect.
But to give a very quick rundown of everything MD does wrong. (TADC shares some of these too despite being written by a completely different person.)
>Plot is schizophrenic and nonsensical yet somehow meandering at the same time, pacing is ADHD and gives no time for the characters to breathe yet somehow never goes anywhere
>There is no character development at least no satisfying character development one character goes from hating someone to literally laying down their life for them in the next episode that's about it, nobody else really changes in any meaningful way
>Classic millenial humor where it's impossible to know what is supposed to be a joke and what is supposed to be taken seriously
>Several plot threads that you think are going to be important or explained later are then never elaborated on or even brought up again
>Nobody not even the main antagonist really has a clear motivation for why they're doing anything
>Several characters just exist to exist and don't really do anything of note even characters that you might have thought were gonna be important
I could go on but I don't want to repeat my old days of writing essays on everything wrong with the retarded robot show.
How did Gangle end up in the circus if she got hit by a truck and was recovering in the hospital? Dunno. Did C&A take brain scans of people at the hospital? Dunno. If so, why aren't there more hospital patients in the circus? Dunno. Has there never even once been a power surge, shutting off the computer in the past 20 years? Dunno. Why did no one at C&A in the 90s do anything with the brilliant AI code they wrote 20+ years ahead of its time? Dunno.

I believe tadc will quickly fall into obscurity. People who are coping hard and saying the ending was amazing will eventually grow a little older, watch better media, and gain some insight. But most won't return to the forums to explain they were wrong. They will just lose interest and forget about tadc until one day 5 years later they'll find their old dusty plushie wedged between their bed and the wall. They'll chuckle at the memories, then throw the old thing out.
Indie studio, guys, Glitch is just a widdle ol' indie studio, this is what indie studios do guys they collab with the biggest merchandising whore in existence like it's no big deal okay, indie studio, ignore how they are funneling everything into a shitty show made by egoraptor that is thriving off furry porn with only a single pilot, indie studios do this, they have tons and fucking tons of merchandise ready to go ready to shove in your face at all times ok post credits merch drop limited time only, INDIE fuckin STUDIO asshole you got your v-bucks ready, you ready for pomni to fight adam smasher and goku and peter griffin, you got your magsafe charger on your phone right now ready for it, INDIE STUDIO that's what they do man they aren't using the same outsourcing as disney is right now 100% real all natural all INDIE STUDIO, JAX IN A MAID DRESS DOLL KIDS LOVE IT KIDS WANT IT BUY THE SUPER SECRET QR CODE POPCORN BUCKET RIGHT NOW INDIE STUDIO NEEDS YOUR FUNDING
Indie truly is the powerhouse of "being the very thing you swore not to become" and such morale will last until normies peak and become way more vocal against ""indie"" studios or just indie media as a whole.
With how big TADC has become, especially now at the big screens, there's going to be a lot of copycats. A lot of posers. A lot of people who now think therapy speak and heavily marketable characters (for people to draw porn of) are the big ways to get out there. We're going to see an even further lack of creativity because, surprise surprise, suddenly being innovative is meaningless when money, popularity (and eventual outsourcing) prevails all.
These people are as creatively bankrupt as the corporations they laugh at for being shallow, and it'll stay that way until enough people get miffed and stop treating GLITCH like the indie equivalent of Disney (which they are and always has been).
MGS5's ending is the way it is because it was literally sent out unfinished so konami could "shift focus" to casino shit and mobile game shit IIRC. The entire actual ending that isn't the bullshit abrupt ending is on youtube as the cutscenes uploaded from some special edition of the games bonus cd or osmething.
Anyways I noticed something looking at the movie merch store linked earlier that tells me there waspossibly some kind of plot that got scrapped.
This limited blindbox thing's "rare figures" are ribbit (not shown here for some reason) and caine...Being killed by bubble.
All these blindbox figure sets have been related directly to events and character designs from the episode that came out around the time they did. It makes it even weirder that this is like "normal ribbit, caine being murdered, everyone partially abstracted and kinger trying to reunite with his wife"
Like I dunno maybe it's just a coincidence but there's a sorta story with these figures that seems much more tied to what came before than what we got.
Also there's a depressed jax at the bottom of the shop page surrounded by abstraction monsters. stranger still the jax itself is an image separate from the background image.
So, managed to see the finale without being spoiled, even though the original theater I was going to go to got closed due to a bomb threat.
I just got out of the theater, so I’m still kind of processing everything that happened, but I’m weirdly annoyed that Jax just stays abstracted. Like it looked like whatever Pomni was doing there was actually working, but then they just said well fuck it I guess. I don’t know, just seems kind of weird.

This shit is why I'm pretty sure the last episode got changed or reworked into whatever the hell that shit was last minute because of how weirdly detached it is even from it's own fucking internal logic it introduces. You can see it's blatantly just a way to keep things open for endless sequels but also to not include the guy that got cancelled on twitter for being an eggman nega enjoyer.
EDIT: I already went over all of this but yeah it's not gonna stop being odd to me how they pull this shit. Other people also point out everyone goes from feeling bad about jax to just smiling and living happy immediately after he's fucking dog-ified.
