Lol, lmao even

This is instantly funny if you check the author's commentary about what inspired him to write it.

But sure, stagnancy is supposed to be a happy ending for a gaggle of characters who've spent a portion of their artificial existences trying to fight their way out of it.
I would push back on this somewhat. Progression doesn't necessarily equal happiness, stagnancy doesn't necessarily equal misery. Someone living a quiet, simple life is quite possibly (arguably, quite likely) to be happier than someone with a rapidly advancing but highly stressful career. Most people actually want some level of stability and predictability to their life. There's a reason "May you live in interesting times" is a classic curse.

That's the main issue with TADC conceptually (as well as this SCP). It's much closer to what Heaven would look like than Hell. TADC is often compared to I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream. But that's a horrifying premise specifically because it isn't stagnant. They're constantly being tortured! That's not your life being stagnant, it's the fucking opposite!

TADC is only similar in the sense that they're trapped in a system they can't leave. But within that system, they're not actually being made to suffer in any meaningful way.

What is the biggest issue Pomni, Jax, etc. have to deal with? Is it boredom? Something the AM equivalent is actively trying to alleviate? Feeling bored from time to time isn't torture. If anything, it's unhealthy to never be bored. Meaninglessness? People in the real world feel like their existence is meaningless all the time. The fact it never ends? That's an issue with any setting that involves immortality. It's also not even really true, because abstraction (which on a long enough time scale is inevitable) is essentially death. So what is it? Is it just... not having porn? They look like knockoff Looney Tunes characters? What?

On paper, that they know they have real lives out there but can’t leave the fake ones. In practice, it’s that they’re incapable of escaping their stagnation, being essentially copies and not truly real, except we’re supposed to take this as A Good Thing™ now. Progress and stability are both needs, or at least ways to fulfill other needs. But here, we’re supposed to accept that Caine couldn’t fulfill their needs, not understanding humans, and that they can help each other with them (except Jax who is asshole), until suddenly their needs don’t matter anymore because they essentially own nothing and are happy. Even Jax just dies inside and becomes a dog, so he never atones for what he did. His needs, or Ribbit’s, or Kaufmo’s, or any other abstraction’s don’t matter either. They’re gone. At least Kinger’s wife makes for a nice decoration in the tank.

Call me retarded and autistic all you want, I'm high on hopium hoping that the last half of that leak was a fake out. Jax would definitely fall under the category of top tier character so instead we spend the entire god damn finale focused on his issues just for NOTHING to be resolved? I reject this ending. He lives and hes happy and he gets his frog bitch back the end
I saw someone's amv that handled this better. Jax still abstracted, but there was a kind of closure of him joining Ribbit and Kaufmo in the abstracted mono-conscience. Kind of a parallel to an afterlife, but there was some actual sincere effort to pull him back from the edge and the cast reacted more instead of "Lol, guess he's our dog now." So it was more poignant.

I mean if they were just going to not care, should have had them reach that conclusion last episode after the button incident instead of having so many of them act like they wanted to keep him off the ledge in 8 only to forget in 9.

It kind of reminds me of a horrid comic I was warned not to read decades ago, where the story seemed like it was going to resolve with a little hope and affirmation, only for the characters to do a 180 and after another setback decide to embrace depravity and degeneracy. It stuck with me for it's de-affirmation that made humanity seem like a lost cause and we'd be better off with a meteor. Few stories have left me so hollow in the soul afterwards, so I guess it was an accomplishment.

I don't agree. The fact that as limited copies of a human original transplanted to a digital world with essentially doll-bodies in a VR sim this means they cannot have sex, something Zooble specifically highlighted. Cannot feel pleasure, cannot feel satisfied after eating, can't take a dump or a whiz, can't get drunk unless you count Stupid Sauce, can't learn or grow beyond preset limits, cannot do anything HUMAN.

Worst of all, they only have the same half-dozen 'people' to associate with for the rest of Eternity. NPCs don't count unless they are given permanence. I'm a pretty anti-social person, but even I consider that last bit closer to my definition of Hell rather then the Heaven.

You just made it sound like being a constipated Mormon

Those pink walls make me unreasonably angry, who the fuck actually paints their walls pink.
The room I slept in at a relatives place as a kid had walls painted pink but that was like 20-30 years ago and the only other place I've seen with pink walls since was that moldy house listing with the vtuber cutout on the room entrance for no sane reason

Neither of them were this weird bluish pink though it was more like that kinda more warm yet still pale reddish one

I get the feeling Jax is the author's idea of ~toxic masculinity~ that must be rejected. That's why the other characters acted mostly annoyed he was inconveniencing them when he initially abstracted. Then were relaxed smiles immediately after internal Jax was lost for good. Their attitudes didn't seem real, authentic, or even human considering the situation. After some thought, it would make sense they'd act that way if Jax was not an actual human, but he was an idea that they were better off without.

Everyone's faces immediately after Jax is lost forever:

My theory is that she does represent in part something external. He is trans so a lot of the validation he gets is double faced, specially from Toxic positive women.

They will validate him as a true and honest woman, but not really believe it. He has definitely caught on it, but doesn’t blame them completely. Ragatha is condemned for not being honest with her feelings, but not herself as a person.
I also read Ragatha as a toxic positive woman. As someone who used to be one as a teen, I've also fallen into the attitude of "give everyone love, warmth, and validation, even if you have to lie to them, lie to yourself, lie to society, and lie to everyone else around you." It's an attitude that sees people as delicate babies who will fall apart and abstract if there's even a slight breeze or someone is rude to them. It may be connected to maternal instincts where there's a strong desire to soothe, validate, and do anything you can to make a delicate baby/toddler/kitten/puppy feel good about themselves. Especially if someone is mentally ill, you must fawn over them even harder to make up for any love and acceptance they're missing.

I'm glad I grew up and can actually tell the truth. No more falling over myself to validate someone else's delusions thinking that lying for validation points makes me a good person.

If I could give more than one sticker at a time I would give you a feels sticker

I'm too lazy to find out what thread it was posted in right now but a few months back there was like a listing for a house someone posted in a thread that had shit like a vtuber printed on paper taped to a door (I think it was piippa pipkin) and a really weirdly structured bathroom with a funny skeleton toilet paper holder. The outside and some of the inside of the house had big patches of greenish mold on it.
