The thing is this series wasn't building to a "nothing matter everyone fake" ending. You wouldn't have characters having the sit down talky moments about how much things mattered or the implication of there being an escape caine doesn't want them to know about throughout the entire sereis because he has issues with being alone due to literally being made to create cool ideas for/entertain humans in his game world. This final one just veers out of nowhere into the lap of matpat tier retard shit despite everything that came before.

I think it doesn’t feel right to you because you were invested in the characters and their struggles. But the key is understanding not the characters, but what their creator believes. People like Gooseworx believe that nothing matters, but that you can cope through other people, family, friends, etc. That’s all there is to it. This explains everything, even your Caine example.

Overall the setting is kind of an inverse of the sci-fi post apocalypse you have in something like Blame, where technologically-regressed humans are living in the ruins of a long-forgotten great civilization. It’s something that surprisingly hasn’t been seen in much media before or since, Horizon Zero Dawn is the only thing that’s kind of tried a similar thing with its feral robotic “animals”.

Would Neir Automata fit? The main enemy in the game is a race of robots that are awkwardly trying to mimic human culture. I also picked up Dolls Nest recently and that game revolves around a race of androids left to their own devices mimicing the long gone organic humanoids on an abandoned overindustrialized resource starved planet

Take away from the final episode is that jax's potential redemption arc was for nothing and prior scenes such as jax almost abstracting in ep7 and other characters effort to help him were pointless in the end. All this together is why the brony fandom exploded. The porn and the suprisingly diverse amount of OC came later and kept the machine going. That can never happen again. It was too unique.

I believe she tried to donate to their show during the crowd funding campaign because she liked their project. Old-ass drama lore, I gotta' be real it's was kind of gay on their end as much as she deserves it.

Imagine if this show was well written and the dogshit SOMA twist was revealed in like, episode 2, where Pomni just realizes "Wait a minute I've been here like a week and the building was clearly in a state of disrepair, so logically I should've starved to death. So I must just be a scan of myself." and then the rest of the circus all just reveals they figured that out themselves after a few days too. Or some shit.
At least that way you get the non-twist out of the way quickly enough and then you can maybe build to something actually interesting without stringing the watcher along in the hope something interesting is planned.

It's infuriating how obvious this should've been, this solves every issue with the show. The obvious twist wouldn't matter and characters could actually be the main focus of the plot and their development could reach a resolution. The show could actually explore existential topics outside of the pilot and the one scene with the crocodile guy. The show's stated theme of "There's meaning to be found in a stagnant life" would actually make fucking sense since the show would be nothing but them finding just that.
Unfortunately this would require that Nooseworx be capable of writing dynamic characters instead of meaningless Tumblr therapy sessions and arguments disguised as character development.
The idea that it was just the finale that was bad or that the premise was fundamentally flawed are red herrings, Cooper is just a bad writer. At no point did xey know where the show was going, how it would resolve, or why anything was happening at all. To Cooper the show was just him playing with dolls, he wasn't thinking of it as a story, he was thinking of it as funny adventures with his OCs. This is why no one has any character development whatsoever and why the show has no actual plot. This is confirmed by his most recent tweet where he states that he "kind of just wanted to make a cartoon" to explain why he didn't give a shit that his movie got leaked and Glitch just got completely fucked. Because he's mentally a child. The entirety of TADC was no different than AO3 smut to him.
