Kinger is really the most well written character, he doesn't really follow most conventional tropes as its an initial misdirection to a mix of Bumbling Dad and Absent Minded Professor, but he's only that for those that don't get to know him. And a true father figure for those that do.
Whether intended or not, Kinger being affected by the light and dark the same way the abstraction are, seems to be representative of the comminly documented male burden of suffering in silence. As in rather than actually going through and suiciding like Queenie and Jax and the others, the much older male sage is simply expected to suffer and pass along his guidance to the younger generation.
If the entire meaning of the show is "how to find purpose and happiness in a stagnant or inescapable reality by forming genuine connections with the people around you", then Kinger goes beyond even that as we have no idea how long he was trapped alone with just him and Caine. Its sad that this is how Goose thinks of the ideal widower. That their life is already over, they are just carrying on stoically, waiting for more purpose. But its neither something that never happens or something that hasn't been idealized since the Victorian age, if not earlier.
Jax was never heterosexual, his behavior bitchy, closeted, and antithetical to masculinity grows worse as the series progresses. troonworx crafted him as the male self-insert, fueling "funny bunny" popularity on the judentube, with pomni as the equally flawed female counterpart. The show is darkly subversive poison I fell victim to it I and got groomed... I came for the clussy and got raped of my time my dignity and went through the humiliation ritual... Lesson learned I guess?

Kinger is not perfect, but if I had anybody to choose to be friends with in the series it would have to be him. Some people understand him. I appreciate that they kept his cringe dad side in the daylight and more tender guiding hand in the dark. Thats a feeling. That's what I really liked about episode 3. From a character growth aspect, episode 3 wasn't bad. Episode 3 is where I was invested after the pep talk with Pomni.
Another thing, therapy sessions are not the only way to build characters, Gooseworx. More often than not they all like bitch to eachother and whine which kinda builds no character at all lol. If they actually put situations and conflicts up like trying to overcome a burden or become more skilled in something that would have excelled in character and world building.
Theres a time and a place. Kinger and Pomnis talk was strong though in my eyes. Might have been close to home. The only "great" moment I see. Everything else is alright.

Like his avatar, Kinger lived to his namesake. May have been the slowest, but the most important piece and character in the Digital Circus.
It's like Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. For this story to work, the story had to take out Queenie, his strongest piece.
Something I've noticed lately is how the fandom will often refer to Ribbit as "they/them", but never Kaufmo. Interesting how it's always the female characters that are genderfluid until proven otherwise.

Kinger was consistently the best character, he was a great balance of levity and wisdom through the whole show. Honestly there's seeds of a ton of great character and relationship dynamics, but that'd require a competent writer that actually wants to develop the characters and have them grow as people. If any of the traumadumps actually had the payout of seeing those characters actively pushing against their own flaws, they'd be less stupid to include - but there's no real introspection or growth or effort towards growth, because Goose can't fathom people changing unless it's ~queer~.

Even my most Lefty trans ally friends saw the ribbit scene as romantic and were confused about where the whole trans thing came from. There are tons of motherfuckers that actively push people away as soon as they get too close, it's called avoidant attachment and it could've actually been interesting to watch a character overcome that shit. The fucking fortnite rock event ending where jonesy got nearly killed had more impact than the digital circus finale so this is a lot funnier to me than most of these (which are also funny)
For context for those who know jack shit about fortnite the guy that shoots jonesy here was his old boss geno, who Jonesy went against to help stabilize shit by calling a rival organization's help years ago. The reveal here is that one of the members of that organization was actually his old boss the whole time who has larger plans in a "the game was rigged from the start" kind of way. The recent 'threat" in the form of the dark voyager (skeleton nigga) was actually just a guy working for geno.

The only bad part about kinger is that he is clearly another Ice King type of character who keeps appearing in western animation, the "funny crazy old man who was actually a wise father figure in the past", but Kinger becomes this character way too early at chapter 3, and his insanity isn't explained and goes away when needed, making it and him a contrived plot device.
So Kinger ends up basically being two characters at once and conveniently alternating whenever Goose wants comedy or therapy, where by the end the insane one doesn't exist anymore. It was extremely easy to solve this and there was no downside.
He's still the most "well written" because he's the only character in this circus who talks like a rational adult and comes across as the most earnest,. When you stop to read closely, a lot of his advice is just vague pep talk stuff, but it still feels incharacter and that he really wants to help.
I finally watched one episode in its entirety. It was the guns episode, which from what I heard second hand is generally considered to be one of the fan favorites. I need all circusfags to get in here and convince me why you aren't lesser lifeforms for genuinely enjoying this ceremonial grade dogshit. >it's a slow scene to break up the "tension"
