Just finished watching the show, and Jax to me came across as a Cluster B case unable to effectively communicate. The troon aspect is very forced, and Jax seems more like he needs serious psychiatric help, which is really impossible to get when he’s surrounded by people full of emotional problems of their own.

Also, to no one’s surprise, Jax essentially pushes other characters to the point of in-game suicide, yet he’s supposed to be empathized with in the end? This is even after he strongly implied to murdering his own mom. Trooning out doesn’t suddenly make this okay, but we’re supposed to be as empathetic to him as we would Pomni and Ragatha. Of course, the women on the show are expected to be super supportive, to a point where their own character arcs are overshadowed and just given “development” near the end after watching Cain’s movie. The morals in this series are all over the place, and while I do feel for people dealing with mental health issues, I draw the line at feeding into delusions and being abusive to others. A mental illness isn’t permission to treat others horribly. I really hate this messaging because it overall creates issues where having any healthy boundaries with people suffering from them gets interpreted as “mean.” In all honesty, it’s surprising Jax wasn’t ostracized after the Rivet incident, but there is next to no accountability for this character.
Are you really surprised that a tranny run show's self insert's moral is "you have to be nice to me even when I'm a complete piece of shit because i'm trrrraaaannnnsssss and better than all you cissy women, suck my girlcock"

Jax’s could have been an excellent story about being a troubled young man with shitty defense mechanisms, and instead we get this horseshit alongside a complete crew of psychot
That's the problem. So many developmental issues in the plot just really stunt the growth of the whole show. It's a show about nothing. Over the recent week I groaned and moaned at what happened but I came to an apiffany. I'm almost certain somewhere along the way something changed drastically and I'm wondering if Glitch had something to do with that.

I've read somewhere that Gooseworx was inspired by popular heavy hitting shows like EoE. I wouldn't mind being a fly on the wall in one of the board meetings between Glitch suits and Gooseworx.
Caine didn't really understand humans at all, why wouldn't he just delete and recreate when they go crazy? That would be an interesting plot point, he sees the human go crazy and says "welp, they broke, time to restore from backup!" which could later become a point of character development as an AI comes to understand how impermanence is a fundamental part of the human condition and stops trying to bring the "dead" back to life. You could also throw in some creepy scenes where restored characters run into the remains of their previous iterations for a bit of existential dread.

If it was a premise like this which I foolishly thought it was going to be in the first three episodes, I would have a lump in my throat. Loss like that is absolutely crushing. To portray amnesia or even alzheimers to an extent like that and done well would probably place this near top of all time watches. Stuff like that is very real and it just is a horrifying reality for everybody affected. But nah. Funnybunny on top, fuck storytelling. I had alot of hopes but yeah, I should have known better coming from a youtuber who couldn't handle reality themselves.

What do you mean "gooseworx is right", i didn't see goose say that. Imagine coming to the conclusion that this is somehow Ragatha and kaufmo's fault.
It's like a lot of things Goose has supposedly said or done.

"I'm heading to Dashcon next month."
"OMG! if you rearrange the letters, takes some away, and add some, it comes out as Ragitha Kinger OTP! Ship confirmed!"

This goes for the haters too. They'll see a photo of one eating bacon sandwich being extrapolated into them killing kids in Palestine or some shit.

The target audience is mental weaklings who can't handle their silly cartoon with dark undertones for adults having actual dark undertones and real stakes. In retrospect maybe that was the intended audience from day one.

Not surprised, so much as annoyed. Also, a lot of the women on the show just existed to help soothe Jax, except for Zooble, who rightfully was just pissed off with his antics. Ragatha was just too emotionally beat down to really fight back, and Pomni was the ultimate enabler, portrayed as the ideal. The show honestly just comes across as a cry for help, and I’d be curious on what a clinical psychologist would think of it.

For sure a supportive network definitely helps with treatment, but in real life, that network isn’t guaranteed to stay if they are emotionally abused. Since the show is primarily in an alternate reality where you’re controlled by an AI that forces you together, you’re unable to go no contact as easily, or at least lay boundaries. When you look at it from that angle, it’s obviously no wonder multiple characters were driven to in-game suicide because they get no real chance to separate themselves from their abuser.

I really wish the story ended with Jax getting a shrink instead of the “power of love,” because you can love a person, but understand that love isn’t a substitute for professional help (which honestly majority of the cast needed).

Something did change, but GLITCH was making bank and would probably love the adventure of the week format of the first few episodes to continue. I think this is entirely on Goose. He has no real experience writing a character focus series like this before and I get the impresson after the first batch of episodes he didn't really like being a showrunner and wanted it to be done quickly. So after the first batch (2,3,4, were already in development with five in early planning after the pilot got greenlit) he did a hard turn in direction and use the 2nd half to wrap up the story.

Late to the party but I watched TADC with a group. We got to the McDonald's episode before we got bored. It was weird how quickly the Exit door was forgotten about, I was hoping it is because of Caine or the setting itself slowly molding Pomni's mind because the plot also established the others saw the door but they lost the ability to care over time. The clown seemingly abstracted because he was too singlefocused and went mad over it. So it was up to Pomni to remember it, get the cast back to shape and also befriend them, but not care too much to abstract over it, needing to find a balance.
I don't really see how people like Jax. He is not a typical asshole, he seems to be an underlying bully who constantly pulls back the others with his 'dont blame me, im just a loveable jerk teehee' antics. That doesn't work if he barely gets any consequences for his actions. I liked Ragatha move than everyone because she gets everyone to actually act during the adventures.
Then the ending memes came and I'm not surprised. I'm more surprised of people reading the Ribbit putting the bow on Jax scene as a trans allegory rather than the classic 'girl gives her crush an item to show affection'.

VRChat Update:
When you try to report overt sexual behavior from other players, as in they fuckin' in VR in front of kids, you get a message saying you can't report it in-game and specifically have to go on the forums and make a report.

I have borne witness to actual crimes on this platform in The Amazing Digital Sex-Pest Convention and the "Call Cops" button literally does nothing.

I don't like him that much either, but I can see why people liked him. If you're a kid, he seems like the fun type of character. He isn't so bad by Looney Tunes standards, or even compared to your average Teen Titans Go! character, and to be fair, this was intentional on Goose's part. Except it's not. This show wants us to see the performers as real people, to the point we even saw their social media, so in reality, he really is just a bully who abuses women while pretending to be a cool, funny guy.

Adults—but mostly women—latch onto him because he seems at first glance to be just a misunderstood bad boy who needs a nice girl to show him the way and reveal his good side inside. This archetype is extremely popular, and you'll see early on how a lot of fan art depicted him as a nice older brother or secretly nice underneath, because that's what people badly wanted him to be.

But in reality, he was neither. He is just a metaphor for Goosework's life pre-transition. So he really was an asshole to everyone because he was jealous of women and couldn't wear a dress. Even the shippers would be disappointed, as Goose was never gonna make him the straight male in a straight, normal relationship.

I sincerely wish I was wrong, but Goose has confirmed him being trans, so this really was the endgame all along.

Groomworx confirmed season 2 is a possibility may god have mercy on our souls smh.
I would be surprised if it didn't get more content. The show just prints too much money, and there is demand (hardly by farmers but definitively by kids).

I was suspicious Goose might pull out a "muh artistic integrity" card to stop it, but if they have his blessing, and they like money, there's no reason not to do more and milk it more. Like it or not, This is GLITCH's Spongebob

Jax is gonna un-abstract and suddenly have a female VA. Calling it now.
And still be just as insufferable because accountability doesn’t exist for him. I don’t think the writers are creative enough to make a more interesting conflict that doesn’t involve Jax making his own personal issues everyone else’s burden.

Cooper is already regretting giving the troon parade fuel for the fire. I guess that post-nut clarity hits hard even when you don't like having a dick.
