Any fans of The Alan Parsons Project here? The Alan Parsons Project is one of the best examples of progressive rock in my opinion. To this day, whenever I listen to their albums, I often get very blown away from their amazing production values. Most people may be familiar with their song "Eye in the Sky" but most of their songs is just as good as this.

Eye In The Sky is one of my all time favorite songs. Great lyrics, a nice somber tone, good synth work, chef's kiss overall.

Don't know what it is about these two songs, probably Lenny Zakatek bringing his absolute a-game on vocals but they just get me going. There's something so deliciously vindictive about Wouldn't Want to be Like You that it rounds out my top three APP songs.

Haven't heard his work, but I'm pretty sure he helped both Floyd and Steely Dan with their expertly produced music for a time. So that is worthy of at least some praise on its own.

Probably my favourite track by them. Tales of Mystery and Imagination and Turn of a Friendly Card are their best albums. Aside from those two, I do find them to be a bit more of a song band, rather than an album one, but they're usually a good listen.

The early working tracks on their reissues can be great. Woolfson's songwriting diaries are also interesting. You can hear how he initially built the songs from little piano tinklings or singing poorly into some kind of low quality recorder.

Find this pretty depressing.
Don't Answer Me

In the early 80's I got my father kinda hooked on the album Turn of a Friendly Card while driving thru the Eastern Sierra Nevada. He loved music and he loved this album. He also really liked Prince. And thanks to him, despite my childhood and childish protestations, I am forever in love with the man with the Chocolate Velvet Voice, Nat King Cole.

APP was stellar music. STELLAR.

Yes, I got handed a best of CD one day and started hunting down more right after. Never listened to all of it because it was a side distraction from when my normal drip feed of stuff slows down but I liked I Robot and Pyramid a lot. One of the best music recs I ever got. Gonna hint down some more tomorrow and curate a list for myself.

I fucking *love* Tales of Mystery and Imagination - both versions. I like the narration they added in the remix and I think if they had included in the original mix, it would have been perfect.
