I'm so happy the Nautical page on the wiki mentions I Spy Treasure Hunt. I Spy, the books and games, are a whole aesthetic on their own. Just gorgeous.


Another favorite of mine, I'm not sure what to call it. British Colonial? Banana Republic? Whatever the hell you'd call the line for the Jungle Cruise at Disneyland. I want to be Jane from Tarzan and I want my entire house to look like a natural history museum. The closest things on wiki are Adventure Pulp, Soft Colonial Wanderlust and maybe Green Academia

My final favorite: Campcore. Especially Dark Campcore and early 80s summer camp vibes. There's a lot of overlap with Cryptidcore, which I also love.

So I've been putting together an aesthetic that I've been calling Burgercore (not sure if it exists already, it might, who cares) and I've got three distinct subtypes so far:

• Vintage Burgercore is mid-century, warm, and nostalgic. It's that sepia toned memory of going out to lunch at McDonalds back when it was special to go out for fast food. It's the branded ash trays, the old brown tiles, the earnestness of the original Burger King jingle.
• Abstract Burgercore is goofy, imaginative, and iconic. It's more about putting together a look/outfit/"costume" that resembles the elements of a burger, or having wacky accessories like cheeseburger backpacks or McDonalds themed glassware.
• Eclectic Burgercore is loud, brightly colored, and super close to kidcore/clowncore. Vintage Burgercore is nostalgic for the 70s, but Eclectic Burgercore is nostalgic for the 90s-2000s. It's the primary colors and clowns and play-places and all the fun shit that's fun for the sake of being fun!!!

But overall, the whole aesthetic is about the joy and comfort of fast food (namely burgers) and tying that into the creativity of fashion/decorating/etc that aesthetics are composed of.
