This fucking guy

Yeah they've undergone a weird late career revival on social media, the tik tok kids fuckin love them. When The Kite String Pops is turning into a new extreme music gateway.
Very odd, but it's a good album and it's always nice to hear that more people are getting into heavy music from the 90s. Hey, remember when metal was in the mainstream? Remember when you could see music videos by Biohazard, Testament, Pantera and Morbid Angel on fucking MTV?

It may be for the better giving the medium less exposure. Lord knows the scene tourists jumping in from social media and shitting up the place are bad enough.

Are "scene tourists" that bad, though? There's barely any metal shows in my neck of the woods. I'd appreciate it if they were in higher demand because it would mean that, well, there'd be more of them. I don't care if some of the audience only shows up because of an Internet fad. Last time I saw a band I really wanted to see was exactly 2 years ago.

My issue is that they pollute the online spaces. The endless kvetching inquisition over who's NSBM is insufferable.

Ran into a nice old split containing a confused mix of experimental, noise, and metal, with most of the projects included not having other releases. One in particular is raw minimal (opposed to super layered/reverby) drone doom that really hits the spot and reminds me a little of a doom equivalent of some LLN instrumentals.

That is very cool.

Radio Free Innsmouth guy has been putting up the Reptil records. All recommended, in the order I think we should probably listen to them:
