This guy's got layers. Aesop's got layers. A lot of rappers got layers and you can just keep going through them and maybe find some new things, some new ideas, something new that might be funny or insightful. The beats might sound different 20 years later. There might be a sound you hadn't recognized before.

Kool Keith is the man. That 98 year old refrigerator video changed my life. Caused me to rethink a lot of things and how to deal with people.

Jon Lajoie, legendary. Unfortunately he's been trying to become a more serious artist as of late as has more or less been ignoring his earlier comedic works.

I always liked Regular Everyday Normal Guy I II and III.

Despite his efforts the comment sections of his new songs are flooded with people referencing decade and a half year old memes from his earlier works.

Madlib and MF DOOM‘s celebrated underground classic rap album, Madvillany, turns 20 years old today.

This was the first album I actually bought with my own money when it came out in a record store in a city that my mother used to work for, and I dare say that this is slighty better than Ye/Kanye West’s “Late Registration”.

Either way, it’s a solid album from front to back.

No that's fair, I think anyone who was a teenager/in their 20s during the 2000s holds a special place in their hearts for MF Doom.
