Curious what you envision when you say a fragmented site - are you implying a site per topic on one host? Or multiple sites ran by multiple admins on multiple hosts?

That's what I figured, though I fear with compartmentalization comes worse moderation. See: reddit and how each subreddit is tarnished by the mods that are a part of it. Your moderation policies and firm stances are an essential part of what makes this place what it is, most people powertrip their community to implosion in a matter of months.
