🎨 Artcow Terry Reitz / JDR / Jennifer Diane Reitz / Chatoyance - The Original Crazy Tranny; Creator of The Conversion Bureau

I've come to see her as a prophetic figure as of late.

While reading Pastel Defender Heliotrope she grades every page of her comic with a parody of the ESRB directly mocking christianity the same way the "Libtards destroyed with Facts and Logic" videos on youtube take shots at the regressive left. But then I have to remember that JDR spent the majority of her life away from the internet, a time when adults fixated on nerdy hobbies and children's media were truly outcasts in every sense of the word without any refuge in which to cloister one's ego. So to her, Christianity as she knows it is this omnipresent, terrible force that is the facilitator of the world's woes, judging by her anecdotes of the seriously nasty evangelicals she's known. Nowadays dunking on Christians is a trite and safe thing to do, but when she did it she thought she was some kind of edgy rebel against society. Maybe in the distant future when the pendulum of moral panic swings the opposite direction or hopefully hangs still, every mockery we've made of the trendy ideologies that plague today's social media will look like us beating a dead horse. JDR's boogeyman is an American mindset that frankly, doesn't exist in the 2020s.

While her liberal ideals don't hold up to the capricious, ever-changing rules that are alright one day and heretical the next, I've found she espouses similar ideas, in a more subtle, thought-out and sensible manner, that are blared on repeat ad nauseam in today's popular culture. I've found statements about sexuality and gender that constitute the fundaments of their ideology, albeit watered-down to a point that would make her anathema on twitter today, spoken of as though they were radical ideas. The usual pablum about "girls can do anything!" that has been drilled into our heads so long that it's become fact, said like she's a lone and independent woman in Gilead. I suppose what once constituted a conservative or a liberal were entirely different things in her time. Unicorn Jelly and Pastel Defender Heliotrope are true exemplars of yesteryear's counterculture.

There's also her anime website. Uguu! Nyaa! You won't see that style anymore. Even when the artists of modernity try to copy 90s anime, all of them have failed to brutally deform those heads and throw those stiff proportions out the window.

She's not just the prototype insane troon. She's the prototype furry, the prototype weeaboo, the prototype otherkin. The prototype shitlord, the prototype SJW and obsessive worldbuilder as codified by reddit.

The prototype lolcow - like Chris-Chan, if he had savant-level intelligence and an obsession with more sophisticated media.

That's a really astute observation. She somehow managed to be both before her time and of her time, simultaneously.

Reitz embodied so many of these stereotypes before they even really existed. You could stick her into mid-10's Tumblr, and she'd fit right in to the point of being unremarkable. And yet her general attitude on religion and sexuality actually make more sense coming from her, as opposed to the current SJW crowd, simply due to her age. When the present-day SJWs do it, it's almost anachronistic.

It's almost like somebody tried to clone her en masse and ultimately succeeded, but the task took 20 years too long and by the time it finished, it was irrelevant.

And unfortunately the clones, after multiple Xerox generations, ended up degraded, idiot versions with absolutely nothing worth saying.

I just remember her from the old 'Your Webcomic is bad and you should feel bad' page that was a thing for a couple of weeks, probably around 2012/3. It had the kokoro comic, and the one where she described and drew how she saw herself, as an amorphous blob of an alienesque creature.

It was a shock to me back then that someone could have such a self-image. Now, it's woefully mundane, and it's more surprising that there's no rule 34 of it.

God, the internet is a cesspool of exceptionalism.

It goes to show that anything negative you do will overshadow everything else.

This looks like CWC's haul, but funded with twenty times the tugboat. When I look at her I feel contempt and admiration in equal measure to the point where it all emulsifies into melancholy wherein I consider what she could have been. What made her great went to her head. Her adoring fans outgrew and forgot her as she faded into the mists of obscurity. And so this cultural anomaly withdrew, writing MLP fanfics til 2018, when she exists only as an apathetic voice in the comment section.

Her xenophilia parallels the misanthropy common on Tumblr and Deviantart wherein the outcast, the monster, is elevated to the status of a hero.
Now that I think of it, Jennifer is the Anti-Lovecraft. While Lovecraft lived a sheltered upbringing and feared the unknown, Reitz curses her christian oppressors to this day and embraces the strangenesses of sci-fi. Or in this case, the macrocosm of her mind she projects so easily. Jennifer views herself as the other and always will, perpetually taking shots against the status quo regardless of how it changes over time. Although far less aggressively than today's antifa furries. Lovecraft, though, was deeply attached to his heritage, was for most of his life paranoid about the races he deemed lesser taking over and was exactly the kind of person Jennifer would rail against. The backgrounds and lives of these people were polar opposites - one ventured out, the other huddled in.

If she really is the interdimensional goddess-blob Aeala-whatsit who transcends time and space, it's eerily fitting that whatever deity condemned her to the haggard, hermaphroditic vessel she inhabits on Mundis 2900 Mundis made her reflect two American zeitgeists, fifty years removed.

Today every attentionseeking oh-so-quirky artist loves to ironically pretend they're some sort of magical creature persecuted by humanity - just because - as a metaphor for being a moody teen. But what they didn't do is write a million paragraphs of mind-bending lore backing it up.

We all create universes! For every consciousness there are one or many resonant universes linked by cosmosynchronic fields. Everyone is a God or Goddess somewhere!

There are times I imagine myself born several decades earlier. She seemed like a saner person then. I wonder, how would a D&D session with the omniscient Creatrix Jennifer Jennivore Jennisis, circa 1983, carry out?

I just remember her from the old 'Your Webcomic is bad and you should feel bad' page that was a thing for a couple of weeks, probably around 2012/3. It had the kokoro comic, and the one where she described and drew how she saw herself, as an amorphous blob of an alienesque creature.

Oh, you mean this?

As much as I was fascinated by it, OC culture has grown to such a point we will see a day when a mainstream work of media revolving around it. Whoever used the early internet never would have guessed it would have enabled every scribbler to assume a bizarrely fetishistic avatar. And for the average e-denizen not to clutch their pearls in disgust, but to brush it off as everyday phenomena.

>Makes a pretty dope Amiga game and has Apogee publish it.
>Be active on your site for years upon years until April of 2016.
>Everything goes cold.
>Fall into obscurity until circa ~2018 after 3 years since the discussion died down then 2020 hitting and everything's brought back up and you've basically left the internet for good, being a reminder for 90s children of how freaky the internet was, but also how good it was.

That's a wonderful way to go out, honestly.

Ow the edge. A brave, groundbreaking and controversial statement.

The one in the middle's face looks like a blowup doll about to burst. JDR's artstyle lends itself to occasional moments of hilarity.
It's lumpy Underground Comix, like from that Goblins webcomic mixed with Robert Crumb, with a thick slathering of weebshit here and there.

Turns out she's not so hip with the times

Despite JDR being a proto-lolcow and despite her going down an extremely bitter, misanthropic path with her brony fanfics, I do find myself in awe at her imagination in her comics. Her comics are incomprehensible as fuck but there's something creative about them, like they're not quite like anything else you'd see, the product of a truly out there mind.

With a decent editor she could have produced something good, I think, someone who can reign in her narcissism, if such a person could exist.

Her world-building is incredible. The idea of someone trying to rein her in as an editor, though... Imagine the walltext that would have been triggered if anyone had tried to tell her to shorten something up or change anything.

Just read through the thread and it was an interesting read. JDR has the potential to make more out of his art and if he monetised it, could have made an absolute killing especially on top of selling his website for $1m.
If instead of learning about modern, Tumblr lunacy, JDR learned entrepreneurialism and how to tolerate criticism, he could've retired young and get a decent house but nah. Plastic anime shit is where it's at.

Such a shame that such dedication is wasted, people would kill for that.

JDR made enough to retire at least twice and blew it.

After watching Eizouken, I've noticed that the main trio constitutes a macrocosm of your typical artist's mind. If Eizouken depicted whatever goes on inside JDR, the creative and excitable Asakusa would have never met the pragmatic and financially-minded Kanamori. In other words, she is full of creativity and curiosity, and a desire to reflect one's self upon a beautiful setting. But without any attention paid towards practical and financial concerns, her childlike innocence is left to fester into self-importance, egotism, and eventually misanthropy. By episode 12 Asakusa and Mizusaki would still be in that shed babbling about that raccoon dog without Kanamori to stop them.

The same could be said for JDR and her utopian pony fixation.

Sorry to doublepost, but I am morally obligated to post this here:

https://youtube.com/watch?v=rOn-gSTsD7k

This guy is such a faggot. I only casually followed the saga of JDR and within 10 minutes of watching this spew I know of at least 5 mistakes he's made and there was at least as many times that he didn't know the answer to a question from his forum. And this bushnigger thinks he's qualified to give a lecture on her after such shit preparation? I'm not watching any more of that garbage.

Woke up from a dream related to JDR (people speedrunning a game she wrote, not one of the real ones), and see this thread updated. Weeeird.

Couldn't make it past the 'horn honking' intro of that video.

Since I'm bored and stuck inside like the rest of the herd, I've actually taken the time to read the 3rd JDR webcomic 'to save her'. It's.......honestly not bad, as long as you have read Unicorn Jelly and have a basic understanding of the multiverse that JDR's concocted. Without that, you're pretty much fucked.

She is amazingly good at universe building, even if the stories she puts in them vary wildly in quality from entertaining to confused as fuck to thought-provoking to what the TV tropes people would call 'values dissonance' to batshit insane.

She's also a pretty decent sculptor, she made a minifig out of epoxy of the main character of 'to save her' and imo did a fantastic job of it.

For being so tiny it's insanely detailed. Genuinely talented. What a sad shame she's let all that creative talent wither away into writing genocidal wish-fulfilment my little pony fanfics instead.

Jennifer is a sad case because unlike almost every other cow, she actually is creative and talented like you said. She’s just also absolutely batshit and incapable of even understanding that much less working to change it.
