@one_time_user is correct, it's supposed to mean "original" or "root", but that means that Patriarchy Theory (which seems really common amongst "radical feminists") is part of the "root/original feminism". I've checked, and there was no particular discussion of Patriarchy Theory, or it's various descendant material during the Suffragettes time; everything substantial I've ever seen referring to those topics is solidly in the 2nd Wave.

I hear what you're saying, but IME, I haven't seen much white-knighting going on, just a confluence of need on their part. Most of r/gc hadn't heard of KF in November. Losing GenderTrender, Meghan Murphy and eventually their own members talking about JY pretty much left them with nowhere else to talk about JY by year's end. There was significant public posturing going on there about how "KF was a sewer" and even how "KF made me cry." And to their credit, most were severely downrated. In fact, when Null went over there, they offered to feed him an infinite supply of borscht.

A significant proportion of The women that did the early doors predictions of shitshows like JY there were women who had safeguarding responsibilities as part of their jobs: cops, teachers, social workers, nurses, doctors, Girl Guide leaders.
