Ted Talk: How the US Is Destroying Young Peoples' Futures

>inb4 ted talk

Hadn't seen this circulated around much but I just saw this pop on my feed 30 min ago and was shocked at how well and concise this presentation was conducted. Some pretty easy to understand data points that are appropriately used for dramatic effect to drive how just how insane it is. Really worth checking out.

What are your guys' thoughts on some of this data? It's pretty fucking haunting tbh and makes me pretty jaded in terms of this being a fixable issue with our lifetime. I also really liked some of the solutions the presenter (Scott Galloway) puts forth here - such as using affirmation action only when it comes to economic status and how we should re-allocate social security payments only to seniors who are below a lower financial threshold. $1.4 trillion dollars of the poorest generation's money goes towards the richest ever year in social security. Fucking insane.

What do you guys think are ways we can fix this? It kind of makes sense why so many zoomers want communism, the system has completely failed them at this point and if I was under 35 I'd probably want a revolution too.

Power over others is the only lure of communism. Anyone who even tangentially advocates for communism only wants power.

I think its out of sheer desperation and hopelessness at the current system. But many of them don't even realize that this isn't free market capitalism; if it was we wouldn't have had insane bailouts in 2008 and the markets would have crashed in 2020

That was the entire point. It was never about empowering the proles. Marx just realized that exploiting their discontent was the easiest way to burn down society so a group of benevolent betters could take charge.

And then Stalin came along and followed that to the logical conclusion.

We haven't even come close to a truly "free" market since WW2, and that is being optimistic since I am pretty sure we haven't had it since before the civil war. Its a sham market built off the impossible dream of "infinite growth" through funneling trillions of dollars (some due to money printing, some due to diverting taxes, the taxpayer pays the price for both regardless) into the market. The entire reason we invaded/subverted every country with oil was to protect the petrol dollar which offshored US inflation to the rest of the world.

What of course has inevitably happened is monopolies using this "free" money to consolidate all other businesses through mergers and acquisitions, legislate through lobbyists to keep the markets monopolies work in without competition (because contrary to popular belief, monopolies are only born through government intervention not in spite of it), and mass immigration/inflation gaslighting to keep salaries low.

Where we are now is an INEVITABLE outcome because no one listened to the doomsayers who accurately pointed out how bad things were going to have to EVENTUALLY be all the way back in the fucking 70's when this already fairly large can was thrown off a cliff instead of simply being kicked.

I still hate everyone who blames "capitalism" for the situation we are now, since at best its a state capitalist society we live in and that is still just a few steps from outright communism and in no way should be referred to as "capitalist" by any definition.

Yeah this has been a complaint for a while. Bailing out the elite for their incompetence while dialing up the difficulty for the working class just to survive was and is always going to lead to collapse. The question is whether or not it'll happen now or 50 years from now.

The aged seals clapping and cheering in that crowd will be the same people begging Gen Alpha not to cut their heads off and turn them into live-action skibidi toilet memes in 20 years.

Or maybe I'm just having a vengeful fantasy because I can't fly high enough by pulling my bootstraps to give the sky a firm handshake and ask for cash to rain from above, or something.

But where has pure capitalism ever existed? Has there ever been a mechanism to stop people from using their capital to rig the game in their favor? I think we're far closer to fascism (which I define as a merger of corporations and the State) than communism. The US lacks a centrally planned economy which is a hallmark of communism unless you want to argue that the Federal Reserve and the insider trading racket is such a thing, which I'd disagree with.

The video was well-presented but the guy reminded me of the misguided optimism of Bernie Bros. "Yeah, the people who rule the planet will totally cede power if we get enough votes in the system they administer!" Not going to happen. They live an evil person's dream: entire generations of young men and women willing to debase themselves for a sliver of opportunity that the boomers got.

Scott Galloway is literally a Jewish WEF “Global Leaders of Tomorrow” award winner.
He used to relentlessly buy adds promoting his podcast on any business related videos on YouTube. I literally had to use a VPN to escape his dogshit content.

TLDR:
Fuck this guy. Maybe a broken clock is right twice a day, but I don’t care.

You should distrust snakoil salesmen whose solution to government mismanagment is more power to the government

He shows up on CNN and/or MSNBC to talk about this every so often, ultimately just being upset that young men aren't contributing to society anymore without addressing the underlying issues.

Who knew that making a family impossible to attain would have dire consequences for society?

The more interesting part is the type of collapse the West is gonna face. Gonna use the US as the example here as it just happens to fit the mold of those previous collapses.

Yugoslavia - 3 groups of people, government couldn't please all 3 of them anymore and things went straight to Hell. Atrocities happened and 1 country became mulitple. This is where Balkanization came from.
Roman Empire - Once a superpower but decades of incompetence, corruption and bad decisions had this great empire break apart leading to the Dark ages.
Romance of the 3 Kingdoms - Ancient China literally gets driven into the ground thanks to Eunuchs taking power creating one of the most brutal civil wars China has faced.

There's only one Ted talk I'd listen to.

How about:
Lower taxes and cut a fuckload of government spending

Boatload of new financial crimes and illegalities regarding finance for members of federal congress. No more ______ Foundation bullshit, no more owning stocks. Make it so fucking onerous to be a member of congress that only people who are true masochists okay with making the per annum amount congress critters are supposed to earn will ever run for office at the federal level.

Amend the constitution or write into law that any congressperson, similarly, making 10k or more, or having property having been acquired during their term in excess of the same amount above their salary is to be audited every three months until the abberant source of income/property is found and declared to the public with no national security exemption for censorship of the findings. Extend this to family and close associates within two degrees of separation.

Completely halt immigration legal or otherwise

Dismember Dismantle the fed after an audit

Freedom of commerce act or even better amendment to the constitution enabling anyone engaging in non-illegal transactions to sue into the fucking ground any bank that stops or otherwise interferes with such

Break Teddy Roosevelt's anti-trust axe out of the emergency glass and take it to every corporation that has more than two companies under it as subsidiaries

Go on a slasher spree that'd make Jason Voorhees blush wrt regulations that affect small business ownership. Similarly reduce taxation for businesses on a gradated scale not exceeding %20.

Move the vast majority of power held by the federal government back to the states and disband every single three-letter agency and committee on a federal level. Amend the constitution or have it written into law that such agencies are explicitly illegal and every member of congress will have [insert draconian penalty here] enacted on them if such a committee or agency is discovered to exist past the writing of this into law.

Make illegal through amending the constitution or writing into federal law any member of congress holding a position in a company with more than three-hundred employees within fifteen years of the end of their term. Add in twelve-year term limits for federal congress as well.

A lot of other shit too that I can't think of off the top of my head. None of it will happen or has a chance of happening until this shit crumbles apart and is rebuilt from the rubble. We got here imo due to the government slipping the leash over a century ago and it'll take putting it on an adamantium leash shorter than a gnat's dick in perpetuity to fix it.

I blame the big noses, but don't go down the route that "true capitalism has never been tried".

If you do at least rattle those beer cans.:woo:

These are all the same thing.
