On Windows, the new video player also has the issue that fullscreen doesn't display the settings cog, so you have to adjust the resolution before going fullscreen.

And another thing: it doesn't use the keyboard shortcuts YouTube uses, like K for pause/play. Space bar may work or not for this purpose, but it's not very reliable. Thus, if your keyboard doesn't have multimedia keys, you are forced to use the mouse.

Either sites being DDOS'd or the counters broke or optimistically there is over 50k people viewing the site for some reason

It's now back to normal.
Very strange.
