You never want to break the dev environment because that's where the people paid to do work are. So do the testing in prod and then port the changes to dev.

tbh just abusing the production environment is fun because of the chaos it can cause, but always make sure you have some kind of backup if you go too deep and need to revert.

I tried to change my email to one of the private protonmail addresses, which can't send emails, but it required me to re-verify which obviously isn't possible. Is there a way to change the email address without re-verifying?

protonmail's mail relay service can send mail.

For some reason, when I want to check on my current backup codes, the website immediately shits itself and shows a "403: Forbidden | openresty" result.
