I am also getting the status access violation error on full screening videos on the new player sometimes.

Yes it's happening consistently on this video when I full screen after unpausing the video. Full screening before unpausing doesn't give the error. It doesn't happen on the ww2 video one post below.

Also right clicking a video and clicking "Download media" redirects to a new page where I can then actually download it.
do me a favor:
1. click the cc button to disable captions
2. full-size
3. does it crash?

then re-enable it and do it again.

Disabling captions prevented it from erroring completely. Re-enabling captions mid-play and then full screening made it error inconsistently. Re-enabling captions while already full screened didn't give any error. Re-enabling captions and refreshing the page reverted to the old behavior.

Edit: With captions turned off it can still error if I full screen in the first moment of the video upon unpausing. Having captions enabled or disabled persists between refreshes, in the attached video captions are disabled.

I thought it was just some kind of sweet spot at the start of a video that would make it give an error but I believe I was mistaken. Here's a video of me getting it to throw an error multiple times with captions both on and off by just closing and opening full screen a bunch of times in a row.

Edit: forgot to compress the video sorry. fixed it now.

CTRL+F5 and let me know if this still happens.

Yeah it still happens. This video shows it happening immediately after doing ctrl+f5 and waiting for the page to fully load but before this under the same conditions it didn't error until the video had ended while I was entering and exiting full screen for it's entire duration.

that is a painful load time. are you on a very old pc? how much ram do you have? what is your video card?

Yeah it seemed weirdly long to me as well.
CPU: Ryzen 7 9700x
RAM: 32gb DDR5
GPU: Radeon RX 9070

Edit: Deleting my cookies/site data improved the load time when doing ctrl+f5 significantly. Video still gives error when full screening.

Seconding this problem. Replicated on both a 32GB RAM desktop, and a throwaway Chromebook. No captions, Ctrl+refresh doesn't work.

I've been noticing this problem for the last 4 days, and it was 100% consistent on vertical phone videos in the new media player. Recently it's less consistent on phone videos, I assumed you fixed the player, but it still happens sometimes. The aspect ratio on this video is square; maybe that's the problem?

Video beneath it is 16:9, and works fine doing the same thing. Video beneath that is also square, but it's not in the new player so it works fine.

Idk if it is the right thread to say, but, if my IP/connection look fishy, it is VPN managed by a moderately insane guy I know, as my home internet no longer opens KF, only mobile data does somehow.

can you google or use chatgpt to rule out "dns resolution errors"? can I get like an error message? like if you see the generic xenforo reload page can you ctrl+f5>

The video i sent to the mati thread at first was just audio then no video, I then reconverted it and now its video and no audio.
Edit: never mind the video works now, third times the charm i guess?

Last time I asked, you said it was due to Roskomnadzor blocking parts of something. It never shows errors, just the Page Not Found. I think my mobile operator simply blocks less than required. It USED to not load or show endless page load, but now just either works (mobile) or not (domestic without VPN). Slows down occasionally, but that could be mobile operator connection erroring, local tower is weird.
