Played every map. My thoughts:
-Dryfield: trash. Too open, a good sniper can shutdown everything in 2 areas. The flanks are either cramped tunnels or the aformentioned open space. Sub-par layout. plus, its KOTH that is 'built to focus on deathmatch' (taken straight from the workshop page). You will NEVER see this map played again after the summer season is over.
-Camp Saxton: halloween reskin without any gimmick to compensate. KOTH. Garbo.
-Shorelight: more KOTH shit. Too small. It's just viaduct between-point-and-spawn area with a shittier middle.
-Redwood: gimmick bait. Anyone who jerks off over it outs themselves as new. The ziplines are just mannpower grapples - jumping anywhere near them hooks you to them. First half is actually good, second half turns to shit where the verticality isn't done well. You might see this played past summer but will probably be one of those maps where half the server leaves and no one joins.
-Premuda: genuinely one of the worst maps I've ever played. Act 3 is seriously fucked; the first point's sightlines are egregious, second point is so absurd and convoluted it's insane - and bugged, since the sentries target through the windows and try to shoot through it but they can't. Hallways to dead ends, staircases to unnecessary chokes. Frame drops out the ass. Demolition-tier terrible, avoid like the fucking plague.
-Mojave: probably the best of the bunch. I can see this map being played somewhat regularly after summer, although it isn't fantastic or anything.
In short: too much KOTH, typical cramped confused layout that seems prevalent since 2020. Just terrible.
