Taylor Lorenz getting censored for being too spicy is simultaneously hilarious and pathetic. These platforms are exactly what Taylor demanded. Most of us are just used to being censored but undoubtedly it rattles the journalist wine aunt set that they would have to follow any kind of rules they deem unfair. I’m also long since tired of these “rules for thee but not for me” cunts so I hope she gets relentlessly Zucc’d for getting exactly what she’s been demanding.

I wish I had the energy to tell them all THIS IS WHAT YOU WANTED every time it happens, it's the one exception to my not wanting to interact with these people because of how bad faith and dishonest they are.

I just think there's untapped spite potential in telling these shitbags "I hope we get what you want so I can rub your face in it" for enjoyment in the authoritarian police state they desire. That plus the part where everybody's going to report them first. They never learn that part, they always think they'll be exempt so it's funny when Twitter or whoever gives them a harmless slap on the wrist.

I really want to feel bad for this eggless bint because I hate Zuckerberg more than I hate her. But the thing is, she's a sociopathic cunt. She uses her position as a journalist to hurt anyone can give her a leg up in her career. She doxed Pamela Geller's children even though she knew damn well terrorists would want to rape and murder them, she (allegedly) sabotaged some influencer talent agency because she worked for a rival agency without disclosing it in her articles, and she visited Libs of TikTok's relatives at their own homes as a way of intimidating her. I'm not going to shed a tear for her because she ran afoul of someone who's so much of a sociopath that people swear he's a fucking robot. If Mark Zuckerberg fell and skinned his knee, he'd leak oil instead of bleeding.

Noted Free Speech advocate Harvey Silverglate once observed that his fellow Free Speech advocates weren't marching for Free Speech as much as they were marching for their speech. Taylor Lorenz crying into her avocado toast because her engagement went to shit is a prime example of that. Defending Free Speech means defending the speech of people you disagree with, something she will never bring herself to do.

All of my 1970s and 80s paperbacks are crumbling, and the more heavily read stuff from the 90s are starting to degrade. My 90s stuff was around a lot less cigarette smoke, so that buys a little time, but it is inevitable.

They start to yellow, then turn brown. At that point they're stupidly brittle. You'll turn a page and several pages will just break down the middle.

Lower quality paper seems to kind of slow it down, too, oddly. Pulp cowboy story paperbacks from the 50s make it a few decades longer and those were printed on garbage.
