If you feel glad that some evil person is killed, and then you cry because someone kills your innocent brother, you're not a hypocrite. For them, it's like this: we are the evil people who are doing bad things and deserves bad things while they are good and fighting us demons. Calling them hypocrites doesn't cause any effect because they don't feel they are.
It's not hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is when you tell your kids that drinking is wrong, but you're a borderline alcoholic.
