Specifically the one mentioned in Revelations. The modern depiction of the Death card is shown riding a white horse, which is clearly influenced by the King James interpretation of the quote about the fourth rider:What kind of apocalypse?
And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him.
(The Catholic bible specifies a pale green horse, so this is definitely the influence of the KJV bible on the modern card. There are several cards dating back to the pre-KJV bible though that show Death riding a grey or brown horse instead. )
This leads to the modern interpretation that the Death card represents "change", which is technically correct but misleading. It represents change because of course things are going to change significantly during an apocalypse. More accurately the Death card represents "an end" but personally I would append that to "a big end" rather than something insignificant like a single death or bad event. It would be an event that likely upends your entire life, for better or worse.
