If you need extra artists, hit me up for real

Also that’s such a good selection lmfao. Farms as the Hermit is peak. And Idubbztv as the Hanged man omg.

For Null I feel like his moon is a wheel of cheese. American cheese.
I have a faint interest in astrology. It can be fun to read about. But I’m not one of those women that’s like “Oh, you’re a Pisces? I can’t have a romantic relationship with you
I think the same way lol. It’s at least fun to ask people as a conversation starter, or read those sectioned in magazines. It’s like asking people’s favorite colors.
Coincidence aside I will say the one Pisces guy I met was a total wimp. But being a metaphorical fish was the least of his problems lmfao.
Also, my own astrological sign seems to be controversial, and viewed negatively with people who are more into astrology.
I can’t tell if you’re a Gemini or an Ofiuco or whatever it’s called.
Either way LOL
personally lean more towards Lenormand, since it gives me more straight forward answers, as well as divination can.
Interesting!! I didn’t know it existed, but the cards seem cool. I think for me ot would be less intuitive since it doesn’t seem to feature the same suits? I like Rider Waite cause it’s simmilar to the spanish and italn card decks.

Although Wikipedia says some Lenormand decks feature either those suits or those from French and German card decks.

How’d you discover it? Is it a more used deck in your enviroment?

I still had an experience with an old flame back in July, and I didn’t realize that my cards had mentioned him until a few days afterwards.
I also had two really accurate readings last week regarding me and someone else. Interpretation, intuition, whatever it may be called— I was quite pleased.
she’s shown interest in the readings that I have received.
Aww, that’s sweet!
I should try offering my mom one, she loves the 8balls and stuff like that.
In general I'm fan of the sadboi cards like the three, nine and ten of swords or the five of cups, they're simple to understand and so evocative, and because I dealt with depression and anxiety for a while
Those ARE really cool cards. And yeah I can relate to you on those struggles.
For me I think message wise I really like The Hermit and The Priestess, but design wise I love all the knights and most Cup Cards.

Not tarot, but my fav card of the spanish deck has always been the Three of Wanda, ever since I was a kid. I find the Wand suit in Rider Waite less interesting, though.

My favorite is Yoshitaka Amano’s deck
That is insanely beautiful!

On the topic of Tarot related media, I started Persona 4 yesterday on a train ride. I’ve been loving it so far.

Imo Rekieta's arc is the Tower incarnate despite the Lawtube/Justice association. And Bossman should be the Wheel of Fortune idk if I would personally include Kino Casino at all but if I did PPP might fit Justice.
I wanted to link the house in boogies outside incident with a structure + tower as an abrupt moment. I feel the Kino casino would fit visually for wheel of fortune, but Rekieta might fit the (balldo) tower more. Still thinking on what to put for strength and the world.

EDIT: There is actually a thread of the same idea from 2021, but pork and beans makes me want to do it anyway lol.

I do see what you are saying and to be completely transparent I don't follow Boogie closely. My argument for Rekieta being the Tower is that the Tower signifies dramatic upheaval in one's life, at its worst is the total crumbling of existing structures like relationships and jobs. Again I don't know Boogie so well but my impression is that he was always a piece of shit and didn't have far to fall, whereas Rekieta basically lost everything through his own hubris. Though as you say that can apply to many lolcows. My reasoning for Bossman is pretty simply that his whole thing is being a gambling addict (and sometimes he wins big, even). Whereas the "Casino" aspect of Kino Casino is just an aesthetic. Just my two cents though. Strength and the World are tricky in the context of the lolcow-verse. Will try to think of something also.

I also had a terrible experience with a long term relationship with a Pisces man, but like you I don’t think that his birth date and month influenced that a whole lot.

I can’t tell if you’re a Gemini or an Ofiuco or whatever it’s called.
Either way LOL
I am an Ofiuco (or Ophiuchus), but most of the time when people ask me about it, I just say Sagittarius (which also has a bad rap).

How’d you discover it? Is it a more used deck in your enviroment?
No, it’s not. I’ve seen a couple of locals offer Lenormand readings, including someone in my own neighborhood, but I’m in a very New Orleans influential area, and most practitioners offer Tarot readings to the locals, since it’s better known.

I did find that there’s a New Orleans themed Lenormand deck for $35, which is really cool though.
I got into it because I wanted to know the motives of an ex boyfriend more, and I had a strong hunch that he was talking to my mother behind my back, and asking people to stop at my house. He’s on the opposite side of the country.
As you might know, Tarot can be vague. And even when I would pull the Tower card and have real life financial and relationship repercussions from it, it still seemed like it was trying to give me the information light heartedly.
When I went to Google what certain Tarot card draws meant, it kept recommending Lenormand interpretations to me. And then I came across some people reading Lenormand card pulls on Reddit. So then I proceeded to buy my own deck.
I’ve been using it a majority of the time since then. Also, Lenormand card readings can be straight to the point, and not sugarcoat it for me. Most of the time I’ve received positive answers or “maybe it’ll work out, it’s up to your choices.” Lenormand cards are also good for giving estimated time ranges. Like lately I’ve been asking it about when I’ll start a new job.

And regarding the old flame, I was also able to ask my Lenormand cards questions like, “How did (blank) react when he was placed in my English class in high school, walked in and chose the empty seat next to mine?”
I’ve also been advised to be specific with Lenormand questions.
Such as, instead of asking, “What thoughts did (blank) have about me in high school?”
I asked, “How did (blank) internally react when we were working on a group project together in that English class?”
For context, this man and I had mutual friends together in school, and I thought that he was one of the cuter guys, but I never made a move because I thought that he was interested in other girls.
It turns out in reality that he felt the same way towards me. But I didn’t realize it until last month.

If there's a way to illustrate salmonella and/or strokes as the lion I'd put forth Jack Scalfani/Cooking with Jack for Strength because that man just does not die. True inner strength.

I would also love to contribute if you wanted to make it a community project!

Fong-Jones might make a good Tower, too. Both physically and figuratively

I see! I’m a total noob, that’s news to me. My best friend is an ophiucus and Sagittarius as well, so I instantly have positive bias haha

Very interesting! I think in my region there’s this very popular tarot candle and witchy store with lots of decks. Even before doing any tarot my friends and I would go in and look at everything, or at least have a peek at all the themed candles.

That’s a really good point. For me, I very much enjoy the vagueness in tarot, because if I do my own readings, it makes me feel like the possibilities of it all are within me and I’m not at the mercy of anything. However, I definitely agree with you that it can be very easy to put a positive spin on everything, which isn’t always useful.

The concreteness of the Lenormand deck definitely feels like a plus. Very interesting.

Aw, bummer!! Sadly a too common story.

Alternatively, since you already have the Ralphamale, Metokur for Strength.

"WHY WON'T YOU DIE MEDICARE?!"

I don't want to steer the thread here for you ladies, anyone who wants to join in designing the deck pls check in Here :). I think having various decks of different interpretations can strengthen the project, because a lot of people are debating whats what, and imo all variations are valid. People can then choose their own mix of artist tarot cows.

A guy who im going on dates with was telling me about how his day went; today was the first day of a work trip, and he felt kinda misplaced and guilty at not having been as proactive as he wouldve liked— he felt he should’ve talked to more people outside of his coworkers…
After encouraging him a little and giving advice or whatever, I told him that I’d draw him a card, just for laughs…

I grab my deck, shuffle like crazy for a minute… Instantly pull the King of Wands 8)

Insane timing, I’m lowkey in shock lol. No matter if it’s luck, intuition or pure chance, I can’t think of a more accurate card for his situation.

Slowly but surely tarot is completely winning me over, it’s too engaging!

Did anybody pull any cards today? If so, I hope it was an enlightening/resonating/interesting reading as well.

My other tarot post: https://kiwifarms.st/threads/arts-practices-of-the-witchy-woman.177307/post-23752819

Bought this set:

The pros:
  • unlike other editions, it properly credits Smith
  • the artbook is nice, on glossy paper
  • the Pictorial Key to the Tarot, by Waite, on thick paper and with faux-original formatting. I think it's fairly ridiculous artistically, as a serious book of magic, but reading it for fun is, well, fun; the way Waite berates other esotericists for getting things "wrong" reminds me of discussions in the programming thread (except with fewer accusations of homosexuality).
A.E. Waite dijo:
This [the Star. --S] is one of the cards which Court de Gebelin describes as wholly Egyptian -- that is to say, in his own reverie.
It matters little that Etteilla omits the angel, or that Dr. Papus substitutes a ridiculous figure (...)
Court de Gebelin makes himself impossible as usual (...)

The cons:
  • the colors are muted and meh, I have a Lo Scarabeo deck where (the pics on the website don't show it) the reds are more saturated and it looks more magical
  • the two halves of the box are joined by a flimsy piece of paper and it'll fall apart with use
  • despite being named "The Pictorial Key to the Tarot", the book is actually the basic Key, without pictures.
  • EVERY GODDAMN CARD IS LABELED, ON ITS DAMN FACE, "(c) U.S. GAMES 2009". Art dating from 1909, a boxed set that is supposed to celebrate Pamela Coleman Smith. I am mad on the online. Trust the copyrasts to suck magic out of everything.
    • What really pisses me off is there's no rhyme or reason to which U.S. Games decks get a copyright notice on the cards. I have copyrighted modern decks with no notices, copyrighted oldtimey decks (e.g. Crowley's) with no notices, copyrighted modern decks with notices, and, well, this.
Really, it's wild that there's still no version of the Smith deck that's
  1. on good cardboard
  2. with pretty colors
  3. with the original calligraphy
  4. with no "meanings" or multilingual names and other stupidass shit
  5. in a sturdy (not folded) box
  6. with a stylish back
  7. with no copyright notices
^ this does look like a long list but it's just common-sense stuff, I'm not asking for gilded edges (would be nice tho). If anything it shows the many ways to deliberately print a shitty edition.

Lenormand cards have signs on the upper sides, that relate them to the traditional playing cards
1773429086955.png I wouldn't say that using them is always very straightforward, sometimes the answer can get complicated. But maybe I can't use them xd
I also had a terrible experience with a long term relationship with a Pisces man, but like you I don’t think that his birth date and month influenced that a whole lot.
My experiences with pisces are: firstly seems very emotionally stable and cool, then it turns out they are nuts, but they hide their feelings professionally. You can't build a real relationship with them, they don't care.
I am an Ofiuco (or Ophiuchus), but most of the time when people ask me about it, I just say Sagittarius (which also has a bad rap).
Wait why are Sagis disliked? Sagis are one of the chiller signs I think? This is a fire sign, but not in your face fire like a leo.

Lenormand cards have signs on the upper sides, that relate them to the traditional playing cards
that looks really cool. Im tempted to learn. Lately ive been reading on astral charts but I think I just like tarot the most... I find it hard to believe in astrology but being inspired by the (literal, semiotic) signs in the cards is so much more approachable

I dont know poker deck so the cards in ur image have me at a loss lol
im spaniard so the traditional playing cards for me are the ones that match with raider Waite tarot haha instead of poker
Wait why are Sagis disliked?
I had no idea they had bad rep. My best friend is a sag (ophiuco) and shes one of funniest, most skilled, hardworking yet chill people ive ever met

My experiences with pisces are:
pisces men are said to be awful but that is not so true for the women (warning. source: the grapevine)
ive met one piscis guy and he was lame!
