Did she do a photoshoot with the dead zombaby fetus and put it on the internet? I know that's a thing some fundies do (i.e. the classic poison womb debacle on SA back in the day).
 
I feel sorry for this kid. Sounds like mom is trying to force her into mainstream school when that is clearly not what she needs.

I do know though that most disabled people though, whether they're into the whole "person first" thing or not, HATE the phrase "wheelchair person".

It sounds like they don't need to be in school at all. I don't even think specialized therapy would help. The only place this kid is destined for is an institution. Unless the state is okay with someone constantly seizing (if true) in a group home.

Chris Ulmer... Am I the only one that finds they way he speaks and gazes at these people as cringy. Its reminds me of something similar to a "baby talk" that doesn't come off as sincere, possibly just the scripted sounding cadence of his voice. Maby i'm just an asshole, IDK.

He speaks to plenty of ADULTS in his videos. I get it speaking to a child in that manner but something about the way he communicates with most people in these videos is annoying to me. I dont speak to tards so who am I to judge.

I doubt kids watch SBSK unless it's something they're forced to watch by their school. If I had seen someone with 200 layers of skin as a kid, I wouldn't have been able to take that "they're just like you!" message to heart because I would be too busy having nightmares. It's a dick thing to say, but it's true. I feel like kids can only accept so much.

I understand the point of the videos, and the whole "some of these kids who look really fucking weird have the same cognitive ability as you and like the same things as you so don't be a total dick!" but I don't think you'll ever be able to convince children that they shouldn't be afraid of kids who look like this, or that they're "just like everyone else".

This is what I hate about the no child left behind ideology. I don’t know if this kid here was in US or not, but here no matter how disabled a child is they have to attend “school” in some form. I know someone personally who has a child with Cerebral palsy who was basically an infant in the mind but due to laws he had to attend school in some fashion by the time he was eight. They got around this by “homeschooling” him and somehow his physical therapist home visits and the daily pt he required was considered enough to qualify.

I understand the principle of education but Jesus. The other option they had would have been to bus a potato 30 minutes away so he could sit in a room and drool. It’s fucking ridiculous. This kid is now in his 20s so the laws could have changed but maybe this mom is just trying to avoid getting in trouble with the government.
 
They are in the US. She has mentioned home schooling. Someone told her not to do that because the child needs to be around her peers.

It really pisses me off that these kids end up with so many resources thrown at them. Usually at the expense of kids who need some assistance but are capable of being a functional human being.

Is this "no child left behind"? That was enacted when I was in middle school and came into effect almost immediately as monthly standardized tests throughout my time in high school. Either way it's a massive waste of resources to drag potato kids into the school system. At least run-of-the-mill sped kids get social interaction with other kids their age and their functioning level. These potato kids don't even know where they're at or why're they're there.
