🤝 Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

Another mom in the group carried a baby with anencephaly to term. Her daughter did not live long. She donated all viable organs when the child passed.

As good as that is, I'm actually suspicious of the ethical implications of it if taken as a general principle. Suppose it became common to bring anencephalic infants to term solely to harvest their organs? Wouldn't there then be a huge incentive for economically disadvantaged women, or even Third World women, to be paid to do this or even, more horrifyingly, deliberately to create anencephalic fetuses?

Imagine a company that gets informed by doctors whenever such a fetus is detected and immediately swoops in and offers to pay on the contingency that the baby dies shortly after birth?

The one currently pregnant is already loving the attention that she is getting. She is getting so many people telling her how wonderful she is. How the doctor is wrong.

This is an article about the mom who continued her pregnancy so her baby's organs could be donated.

The mother in your group is awful but the one in the article, imo, did something very heroic. Her actions potentially saved lives. :) A nice tribute to the memory of her child who didn't get to live.

That's an interesting thought. It is potentially a slippery slope but... I also don't see much of an issue with it at the same time. As for 'creating' anecephalic babies, that's unlikely at this point in medical science, they don't really know why it happens. There is a theory it's has to do with a lack of folic acid but it's still incredibly rare, even in women who don't take folic acid supplements prenatally. There's nothing a mother can do to 'cause' it.

Both of these moms are in the same group that I am in. Not all of us have potato kids. It's something of a general support group for parents who have kids with various issues. There are a good bit of kids who are perfectly normal aside from shit like cancer and heart disease.

Is that possible?

What would happen if it didnt die? Would these "babies" be murdered?

There would be a strong financial incentive to do so.

If they want the child's organs, that wouldn't be a good idea. You have to die in a specific manner for your organs to be viable for transplant, the organs need blood supply or they'll die and be unsuitable for transplant. Donors are usually put on artificial respiration, sometimes on cardiopulmonary bypass even. There is no point in killing them when they aren't expected to live longer than a few hours to a week anyway. If a parent were to hypothetically kill a baby with that condition to donate organs for financial gain, it is EXTREMELY unlikely they could do it in a manner where the organs would be of any value whatsoever.

Tissue, retinas and heart valves are a tad different, those can be taken after oxygenation ceases but not for very long.

I don't foresee this happening, lol. It's far too complicated and the condition is far too rare for this to be a concern.

Consider this though: babies' livers are delicious.

Is there ever friction between the 'parents of kids who have cancer' and 'parents of kids who are potatoes'?
Of course having a child with cancer is awful, but there's hope for them to survive and live a normal life.
I have also wondered this about cerebral palsy because some people with it only have motor difficulties and some people also have intellectual disability.

There was a mom who called out the other moms for not sending her kid with Autism a card or birthday gift. She got dragged hard. I personally told her that my child had been in the hospital and my kid was more important to me.

I can see that, and also between parents of kids with cancer and parents of kids with lesser, but still serious, chronic illnesses, but mainly with the cancer patient parents causing shit. IE your kid with severe asthma "only" has asthma so fuck off, even if the kid in question is in and out of the hospital all the time.

Autism Moms are pretty bad. Even autistic people can't stand them since they have a nasty habit of talking over autistic people themselves and not listening to anything they say, amongst other things. They're usually middle-upper class soccer mom types who want to act like they're heros for having a kid with the 'tism that they secretly (or not so secretly) resent. They're generally more woo/GOOP/granola than fundie though.

The worst of them will do horrible and abusive shit to their kids, like feeding them bleach, because they think it'll cure the 'tism. Even the ones that aren't that extreme are still usually shady as fuck and treat their kids as props so they can get pity and attention with no regard for the kids privacy. A good chunk of them are antivax as well.

I think we had an Autism Mom thread at some point though I have no idea if it's been active recently.

Here's another example of the delusional thinking espoused by these people. Kid gets brain damage from being shaken as a baby and spends the rest of his life as a human-shaped plant. Kid's caretakers (he was raised by his grandmother and then a nurse after the grandmother died) are unwilling to accept that he's a human-shaped plant so they latch onto the usual spasms from his misfiring potato brain as proof that he totally has awareness.

Townsend is confident the boy recognized her voice. He loved music, she said, in particular tunes by Barney, the purple dinosaur popular with children at the time. Joseph was a mischievous boy who, when fussy, would manipulate his tracheal tube, Townsend said.

When angered, the boy would breathe in rapid succession, she said. And, sometimes, Joseph would offer what Townsend described as "little smiles."
Yeah, it was because he angry and not because he was having a seizure.

If we take the tater farmers at their word and assume that these kids DO have awareness, then that means they're basically trapped in a body they can't control. That's not comforting, that's horrifying.:stress:

Well, that was a depressing thing to read.
That nurse is a saint.

SBSK, aka The Leering Jerk in Red Suspenders interviews another potato that might have even less awareness than the Hartley hooligans (assuming that's even possible!)
