If I walked into that room id think it was some bizarre meta art installation.
I think decorating your rooms all over with large canvas photos of your kids or yourself is tacky and narcissistic but doing with photos of your dead potato baby just seems like a desperate cry for mental help. I think for some of these weird moms all the SM attention they get for a potato baby is like the high point of their life and they mourn the loss of “likes” and heart emojis from randos as much as they do the poor potato baby.

There was an article posted in the news section on this site this week about a mom of 4 killing herself. She had a severely disabled daughter with a rare disease and advocated for a DNR to be available for her. I think she looks a lot like the Kaylee's Krusade girl. With the "right to die" in the title, you'd think she was advocating for full, Canada-style MAID, but it sounds like she just wanted a DNR which doesn't sound too crazy to me? Surely that should be the guardian's choice? The article doesn't say what she had.

A devoted mum-of-four who tirelessly campaigned for her severely disabled daughter's right to die devastatingly ended her own life. Juliet Munro-Chick had been married for only nine months when she was found dead at the home she shared with her husband.
The inquest heard the 42-year-old had dedicated much of her life pleading for her daughter, Rose, who suffered from a rare genetic condition that left her brain undeveloped and unable to see, move or speak, to be allowed to die, reports DevonLive.
Mrs Munro-Chick endured numerous legal battles over the treatment of her daughter, which were said to have taken a toll on her mental wellbeing. The mum's finances were also affected by the challenges Exeter’s Coroner’s Court heard last week.
Juliet, who was born in Hertfordshire and was a former teaching assistant, had been Rose's full-time carer before she was moved into a specialist care facility. Her husband, James, told in a statement how fighting for the right not to resuscitate Rose had caused his wife a lot of stress. None of her attempts were successful.
The court heard Rose was under the care of the local authority due to continual court cases over issues of ongoing care. Mrs Munro-Chick had been a self-employed carer for the elderly but the coronavirus pandemic was said to have made it very difficult for her to continue and in the end she had to stop causing her further anxiety.
In August 2020, she went missing and left a suicide note. She was located by police having taken an overdose and spent two weeks on a mental health ward and was then under the care of local mental health services.
In her final days, Mr Munro-Chick recalled how she had been very inactive, low in mood and had not been eating, but was looking forward to arranging their honeymoon which was delayed due to Covid-19. The evening before her death he told how he had left her watching television in the lounge after going up to bed around 9.30pm and had no concerns for her safety.
When he woke the next morning at 5.30am to get ready for work he discovered she was not in bed and shortly afterwards discovered her dead. A post-mortem examination confirmed the cause of her death was hanging.
Mrs Munro-Chick's medical records confirmed a very extensive history of low mood and depression dating back to 1988. Her GP, Nigel Moody, said in a statement: "It is very clear significant life events that happened had a bearing on her mental health. One episode that had a significant impact was the birth of her third child in 2006 who had significant and severe disabilities to the point of high court cases in managing her health and welfare.
"It put a huge strain on her life choices and mental and physical health. The ongoing problems with Rose, her physical health, court case and losing her job during the Covid pandemic must have been very traumatic for her."
A physiatrist who treated Mrs Munro-Chick at Moorland View, one of two mental health wards at North Devon District Hospital, four months before her death, said in a statement: "I remember the very hard and complex life decisions she was facing as bravely and as best she could."
He added she had suffered the bereavement of a close family member a month before her admission, was the subject of a DWP investigation, was facing mounting court costs, was struggling with emotions over giving up parental responsibility of her daughter, and had insomnia.
He concluded she had been hopeful for the future and said: "She wanted to concentrate her energies on her children at home who she could support and help."
Recording a conclusion of suicide, area coroner Alison Longhorn said it was clear from the evidence heard that Mrs Munro-Chick had wanted to do the right thing for Rose and said: "I can't imagine how difficult it must have been for her."
Following the inquest, Mr Munro-Chick paid tribute to his wife and confirmed that Rose passed away in May of this year aged 14 years old. He added the mum and daughter had previously been interviewed by Lorraine Kelly on This Morning to share their story.
He said: "Rose was severely disabled and had about 10 different things wrong with her. If she had been a pet, you would have been up on welfare charges but she had to be kept alive which goes against all common sense.
"At one time a doctor brought her back to life. It would have been better if she died as there was no quality of life for the child. Juliet was fighting for the right not to resuscitate her.
"In December 2017, Rose came under the care of the local authority after they stepped in to assist and Juliet was still fighting about her end of life care.
"Juliet was a people person and I miss her greatly. She was a great carer and communicator with such a strong personality. I loved her."

There have been a few people with CDD who were considered to be nonverbal tards until they got text to speech devices. Then it turned out they had average intelligence. The movement problems made it impossible to do normal sign language.
Without going into potential lifeposting details, there's a notorious Sped school in my city (Westmoreland, Jamaica). It has a name. Let's just call it 'Johnson Academy'. It is not a good place to be. Retards and social rejects go to "Johnson" to be abused by underpaid teachers as well as other students. Autists are kept in the same classes as kids with conduct disorder. A friend had a sister who went there and got raped by another student.
This weekend I was at a sporting event and thought I saw a kid wearing a hoodie from "Johnson Academy". But he looked to be of at least average intelligence. Going to "Johnson" wasn't something to be proud of, and kids at public school know they'd end up going there if they acted up too much for normal school but not enough for actual juvie. I took a closer look and realized he went to "Johnson Academy" in Kingston, which is a completely different city on the other side of the island. This Johnson Academy is for academically gifted kids.

as shitty as the alternative schools in burgerland are, at least a student being raped by another student isn't something that I've ever heard about happening (not to say it's never happened). I feel like if disabled kids are at risk of sexual violence from anyone here it's at the hands of teachers/other adults more than anyone.

Sped schools in Jamaica make "Johnson Academy" look like Philips Exeter lol. And yeah the worst offenders were teachers but there were also predatory students who belonged in juvie. I wish I could get more into it because there were lolcows who went there. Most cities have a "Johnson Academy", but if I went into specifics I could narrow the search for anyone trying to doxx me.
Special Ed in general has been messed up by kids who belonged in the juvenile justice system getting mixed in with kids who are just learning disabled.

Unfortunately the juvie kids are often one in the same as the disabled kids. The school to prison pipeline is a thing unfortunately, and disabled kids are at pretty big risk of getting sucked into it. Disabled kids are also at higher risk of abuse and thus lashing out as a reaction to it.
That said, it's no excuse for students raping each other, or even being in a situation where that was able to happen in the first place. Kids who commit serious crimes like rape probably belong in an inpatient facility tbh.

I've been following the Guttmacher interactive abortion map on its website and around 14 states, all of them in the South, have totally banned abortion. The exceptions are increasingly narrow; even if you DO have a medical emergency you need to have a team of doctors and lawyers to get the hospital to give you one, and that is IF the hospital lawyer's agree it's a problem. Other than that you're SOL.
West Virginia enacted a total abortion ban to be signed sometime this week, and Indiana's ban goes into effect today.
Which brings me to this. Lindsey Graham wanted a federal 15 week ban. Sounds reasonable, eh? Nope, there are NO exceptions for fetal abnormality which may only be found at 18-20 weeks, and when asked by a woman who had to abort her spud baby, he completely dodged the question.

Doctors state that they cannot provide treatment as the embryo might have a heartbeat and doing treatment constitutes an abortion.
While I hate Mama Doctor Jones for her retarded takes on trans people - her 'You don't get to be offended by science' t-shirt had to be changed because troons raged at her - and refusing to use the word woman, she points out that all of the things these politicians state are exempt are still abortions and they know it. The Women's Health Reproductive Act - which pissed off even the Democrats with its insane policies - could have been passed, codifying Roe, yet these same politicians would've said SCOTUS wouldn't allow it. They've always been bullshitters.

Tor is being fucky about reacts, but just know there are not enough Islamic ratings in the world for that Islamic-ass content.
I'm sure there are no exceptions for the pregnant person being a child either, especially since I know there was already a case of a pregnant 10 year old having to go out of state for an abortion (lord only knows what would've happened if the poor girl couldn‘t get transportation).
Prolifers really need to move to Saudi Arabia or Yemen already, since they clearly just want to hurt women and girls for existing. Forcing women to gestate spud fetuses that aren't compatible w/life or children who've been raped who could die from pregnancy/giving birth is just pointless cruelty to girls and women for the sake of pointless cruelty.
EDIT: if you live in a red state, remember Aid Access exists in case you or someone you know ever needs an abortion. If you live near the Mexican border, misoprostil is available OTC there. Not nearly as effective later in pregnancy (like if you found out you're cooking a spudlet at the 20 week scan), but it can be used and when used correctly is indistinguishable from a regular miscarriage.

Important caveat: an induced miscarriage in indistinguishable from any other miscarriage if you take the pills orally. If you go the quicker route and shove those pills up in your baby maker it may be possible to tell they were there.
Planned Parenthood has good info, but if you’re in a red state maybe turn on a vpn first. I wouldn’t put it past these fucks to use your browser history in a murder case if you ever miscarry.
Also it’s OTC in Mexico as an antacid, look by the tums not the pregnancy tests.

I’m really late and gay and off-topic with my reply, but this struck a chord. I remember getting my confirmation Bible, fancy gold lettering and shit, and eventually I got to the part you mentioned. I was so horrified as a young girl, that I wrote in marker on the inside disavowing the god that could allow such a thing, then afraid I’d get in trouble, I covered it all up in heavy masking tape and hid it away.
Nobody discovered my crime (?) and I’m pretty sure that’s one of the things that put me on the path to KF. (Kidding, sort of). But that Jehovah sure was a mean son of a bitch.
Back on topic, I suspect part of the forced pregnancy war against women in red states, especially wrt doomed deformed fetuses, is a nod to the old-time religious types that consider such blights a judgment from god, like, what sin must you the mother, have done to deserve such an awful monstrous baby. Back to the good old days right?
To be fair though with the Angel of Death with the first borns, Moses did try to plead with the Egyptians first, and then God sent increasingly severe plagues 1-9 that were meant to put emphasis on that hey, things are getting serious and maybe it really is a good idea to just cut your losses and let the Israelites go. Each time they refused, and eventually the gloves were due to come off. It was a bunch of chances to remain largely unscathed, but they wouldn't take them.
I think a lot of it is evangelical Christian culture (and somewhat recently hard right Republicans) kind of Flanderizing the Bible and God, ignoring or cherry picking verses and taking stuff out of it's historical and surrounding contexts. So when people read the Bible for themselves and discover all of this other darker stuff, then it makes it all look dubious, like they are hiding something. It's very insidious, because it makes people believe a version of God that is distorted and make believe.
As far as the states' rights thing, people outside of red states and Republican enclaves knew they were never going to stop. I've lurked on r/ conservative, and people on there had assumed that these elected people would honor states rights, but I could see the dismayed and angry responses on there when they saw articles showing that the states rights thing was ultimately meant to be a broken promise.

I know it's the wrong thread for this but you did remind me of something.
I have a Bible given to me by an (ex) friend that I still keep. I'm not religious by any measure but I'll sometimes read quotes from it to get inspiration or something. What you'll read is the Israelite destruction of the Canaanites down to the very last child. The excuse is that the Canaanites were engaging in child sacrifice, and so angered God and had to be destroyed. However, even Canaanite infants and those in the womb were still killed. So much for 'the unborn were innocent': God didn't see it that way, and deemed them extinct.
I don't mean it in the thunderf00t fedora atheist way but it is a candid discussion of what is discussed in the Bible. If they were sticking to its principles, race mixing with foreigners would be out of the question too, yet here we are.
To get back on topic, with the exception of New Mexico where abortion is legal, nearly all of the states that have banned abortion have child poverty rates nearing or over 20%. Archive. I hear a lot about how 'all life has value' from the people who simultaneously see dollar signs on everything and complain when it's 'too expensive'.
