I really can't stand the ego on so many actors who talk about politics. What makes you so much smarter than any other idiot out there? You don't exactly need super smarts to act.

While I'm sure many actors think they're super smart (because "intellectual" has become equated with "person with left of center views"--therefore anyone with left wing views is automatically deemed SMART), I think it's less about brains and more about, they've been brainwashed by the union newsletter that tells them they need to use their platform to reach people politically. The rationale is, if you have a "platform" and are seen by millions, you're supposed to use that opportunity to preach socjus or whatever.

You know, the thing that gets me is that there's a certain level of heartbreak. You grow up identifying with these characters you watched, and to some extent caring about not only them but the person behind them. It's normal in children, and even in adults.

And then you find out that this person for whom you held out admiration and affection would utterly hate you if they ever met you. They sneer, they froth, they deplore your beliefs and the things you hold dear, and openly wish people like you dead.

You can go back and watch those things again, but it's never the same; some of the magic is gone. Yeah, you can admire the performance on a technical level, but that heart just isn't there anymore.

It's called "ruined childhood". Thanks, Tara. I hope my children never find out what you said about their parents.

I imagine just about every voice actor in LA is pretty left leaning. The difference is how obnoxious they are about it and Tara seems like the queen of that hill.
