>What's your name?
>Gwenevere

It's the medieval/fantasy version of the common troon name of Luna or some shit isn't it?
The absolute state of troons d&d
Made the mistake of checking out a 5e thread on /tg/ (was bored), you're certainly not wrong. I know 4chan is fucked and infested with that nonsense but you'd think there'd be one person bashing trannies.
It's Glorantha, made by the hippiest 60s hippie who ever hipped. If you think Forgotten Realms is perverted...
On a scale of 1-10, 1 being FR and 10 being FATAL, what would you rate it?
the Earth goddess who has no chill at all.
>She burst out to hunt down Oathbreakers and defilers of the Earth.
>Her runes are Death and Earth
>a ferocious women, eyes red from intoxication and rage
>disheveled hair and a drunken lolling tongue.
>black skin but with hands and feet painted with blood.
>naked except for garlands of grisly trophies -scalps, hands and phalluses

Probably the most least offensive depiction of an African God I've seen in a while...and it's probably not even African. Will take it over the usual nonsense I see. Reading the rest of her wiki page and I can see the appeal.

It's basically just the Hindu goddess Kali with the serial numbers filed off.

Every troon wants to marry a powerful kind and have an adulterous affair with that king's best friend who is also the greatest knight in the land. It's also fantasy sounding, but you can shorten it into modern Gwen. It is feminine, has special snowflake appeal, and can be shortened for easy pronunciation. Perfect troon name.

Personally, I would go for Guilalmier, which is a variant of Gwenevere only found in a single Occitan epic poem.

Depends: does Glorantha have people having sex with mud and spawning progeny by the act, and does it have rules so stupid like buying plate mail in parts costs less than if you'd buy it whole?

i mean it tries to create a world of living myths so it is very tame. most mythologies at least have self-fellating gods (ra) cumming duels(horus and seth) orgasm challange (hera and zeus in front of everyone) beastiality (loki) so it is pretty tame. Glorantha is cool. King of Dragon Pass and Six ages are cool. Greg Stefford is a cool hippie

One of the chief rites to becoming the King of Sartar is you literally go to a mountain and fuck it spiritually. So it can get there,

ACKS is big on domain-level play. It's the "King" part of "Adventurer, Conquerer, King System". I've never tried it myself, but given that the design document was just a piece of paper that said "take AD&D and apply forty years of hindsight to it", it's probably good. The creator is a genuine chud too, if that sort of thing influences your decision any.
I think it's the best "DnD" game ever made. It has are all the systems you would need to run a sandbox fantasy game. While each system is made to be as simple as possible. Highly recommend.

If you want to run an ACKs game, buy ACKS II Revised Rulebook, ACKS II Judges Journal, ACKS II Monstrous Manual, Sinister Stone of Sakara, and optionally Lairs & Encounters. I don't know if the PDFs are leaked yet, but for the PDFs on drivethru, the first 4 books are $65. To add Lairs it would be $75.

To make characters there's a 11 step outline on page 13 of ACKS RR. Moving in the wilderness is described on a 13 step outline on page 38 of ACKS JJ. Moving through the dungeon is a 6 step outline on page 35 on of ACKS JJ. then read pages 288-309 of ACKS RR for the combat rules. It's generally a good Idea to read your player's classes (ACKS RR 23-100), and their proficiencies (ACKS RR 101-121).

Everything else in the game is generally mid-to late game stuff. That should take your players 20+ sessions. So you have plenty of time to read another odd page here or there. My last session my players were waiting for a character to travel back to the home base. So they spend 2 days fishing. I didn't know the fishing rules, but I found them quickly (ACKS II RR 321). They caught 2 stone of carp. The lay out of the newest edition is great.

"Hey guys, you see those hill giants over there slurping up human corpses? Let's try talking to them, we could maybe get some info or trick them into fighting some other giants for us." Oh really nigger? They're gonna talk to us instead of trying to eat us like they're doing to those other humans? And the lowest, most retarded giants are going to know literally anything useful to us? Seeing them eat people doesn't upset you at all? Our good- or lawful-aligned party members don't see any issue with lying to enlist the help of an evil race?
The depiction of how evil something is before trying to talk to it matters. Talking to the hill giants eating people or killing peasants for fun is different than bandits raiding a road. In my ACKS game I had ogres raiding a road because a monk that would visit them to preach never returned because he died of old age. My campaign is inspired by the 30 years war, but I wanted the religious corruption to only reach clergy in high office. I wanted the monks and village priests to be near saint-like. In the setting the ogres are stupid, and lashing out, but not inherently evil. With the power of Christ (not the name used, but a stand in) even evil things can become good. But that is a hard thing for something so stupid. It also gets the party involved with the bishopric to the south, which has a magic college, and the monastery. As well as a new biome (a swamp).

Small update for you guys though I doubt you care.

Remember an age ago when I talked about Bolt Action guy who seemed clueless about TTRPGs and at the same time played DnD? Obviously the game never happened, but I recently discovered that his playerbase are teenagers.

Basically some 40 year old playing games with 14 year olds who are just getting in Warhammer and DnD. This explains why he keeps angling for a game then flaking. Teenagers aren't interested in boring historicals and 40 year old has soured on Warhammer.

Additionally, his job means he doesn't have a consistent schedule and is strapped for time.

Just fucking @ me next time, damn.

(Though my gaggle of retards are mostly early twenties, but still)

I'm feeling a glimmer of hope for an OSR game I've run for three sessions. Having players with eclectic historical interests makes things easier for the GM in many ways while also keeping him on his toes. The group in the last session were contacted by a Christian monk. I said that the monk made the sign of the cross while casting a food purification spell on the roasted carcass of an alien, and the player running a cleric rather shrewdly asked how many fingers were extended. Everyone understood the strangeness of the fact that the monk only had one finger out, and there was no need to break things down OOC for a dolt who only knows programming and can't stay off his phone.

They were also pleased OOC to encounter some consequences for past actions, in their case for a failed attempt to ambush and rob a small group of lizard man merchants. In-character, they were dismayed to learn that the lizard men had been en route to the Christian city they were now also going to, and, although they were heathens and it was unlikely that the party would face legal sanction, the local lizard man community was angry and it would be best if they watched their backs. Who'd have thunk that actually using random encounters, tracking locations and distances on the map, and taking notes would actually enhance a game more than handwaving all travel in favor of just dropping players into a prewritten module?!

This is the dream. With my zoomers, I understood that I would have to calibrate my usual subtlety. I didn't realize that that calibration would end up at "anything less than three instances of giant flashing neon signs are too subtle."
