Just saw the episode, it was duller than expected.

Seems like the female characters are the only ones written with depth, while male characters personas are on rails.

The setting of he show is Krypton, and focused on Superman's young grandfather James T Kirk Seig Heil Seg-El, their troubles and mysterious threat that threatens the entire Kryptonian civilization.

Featuring politics, intrige, a class-based society and romantic angst.

  • Adam Strange travels in time because Superman's existence is threatened by someone meddling with time.
  • Superman is 1/4 Black, if the show continues with its current premise.
  • Seg is fucking a Zod
  • Krypton is led by a character named The Voice of Rao
  • The house of El has been banished
  • Segs grandfather is killed for detecting alien life
  • That alien life is Brainiac
  • Voice of Rao is probably Brainiac

Visually its pretty decent and the actors seem solid.

I am waiting to see when they start showcasing superpowers even though it takes place 200 years before Man of Steel (thus tying into the DCEU), which the opening showed Kryptonians are not as powerful as they are on Earth.

So can we await to see another thing implode once they realize that Abrams is shit at structure and can never payoff any of the setups?
