Supporting the Kiwi Farms - Options are cryptocurrency and check in the mail. Read this for how to do it.

I can't find the post now but I recall he also said that sneedforo will be backwards-compatible with XF extensions.
it absolutely will not. xf is php. the rewrite is rust. fundamentally different. I am simply bringing our current extensions with us.

To grow we're really going to need to prioritize our biggest strengths which is long term archival
Would you be interested in spinning off the long term archival part from Kiwifarms proper, as a seperate entity (potentially under USIPS)? I feel like there's a current power vaccuum of sorts. Would be a bit of a mess potentially for archiving things though because people tend to use that stuff as their online storage a lot of the times (and usually for illegal content too, of course), but I think it's an idea in a good direction.

Let me know if you're interested in such an angle, I have a few ideas.

i mean we're building an archive but i don't need ideas it's already in the works. but i'm talking about growing the fucking site not ripping all the content out and putting it somewhere else.

I wasn't talking about ripping content out. I was talking about branching aspects of the site under seperate entities that serve the site also. Like an archive.is that kiwifarms can directly upload to, but other people and sites can also do the same. My thinking was that it could be more heavily specialized for social media and the like (as the site heavily focuses on lolcow tracking anyways). And people could directly support the archive without being branded as a neo-nazi kiwifarms supporter yuck chudlord in 2k26, but maybe that just doesn't happen anyways I don't know. Glad to hear you're already working on it I think it's a good idea.
growing the fucking site
Adjacent to what I was recently discussing in Modern Web Woes, I think that you can grow the site by making it sloppier to appeal to normies, post tiktok edits of your weight loss journey idk. But is that really what you want, or do you want to retain the site as-is and somehow make normies understand that forums are actually based? Because the latter seems a bit like your USIPS logo

Josh. just put a contribution in the mail, going out tomorrow, should see it later in the week. When you see the name in the return address area you'll know who it's from.

A few suggestions for community-driven features:
1. An on-site wPlace canvas. Supporters can choose a segment and use it as their sponsored post.
2. A kiwi nest like that fish website. Users draw the kiwis, supporters pick which appear in the nest.
3. Run another art drive for background images and let current/former supporters influence the selection.

@Null I did crypto 1 month via the account upgrade option yesterday. The days haven’t been credited even though it says the invoice was paid.

(Guessing that as I did it through forum software it’s quicker and easier for you to be pinged here)

how did you pay for 2 months? did you just pay twice the amount of the invoice?
Three months ago I did a BTC Payment and a Sepa. Both got credited.
Month after that BTC payment, got credited.
Month after that BTC payment, credited.
This time BTC payment, no time added.
Invoice ID SQJZQp1P17vP7ZgKveAHh3

(Might be 2 months, but SEPA opening was moment I did BTC + SEPA, btc every month since)

That was essentially the same problem I encountered during the weekend, it’s fixed now by Null (manually I think?), invoice was marked as paid yet no credited time nor receipt of payment either

did it go through

The next merch run should be "Find My Thread On The Kiwi Farms" bumper stickers that people can put on cars and buildings they see with progressive pride flags.

It did, thank you very much for your attention and support, mister Null

After doonating I noticed the "view replies" button on posts is for gold members only. I'd prefer if it showed up for everyone (including lurkers who aren't logged in). For years I assumed it didn't exist because of some XenForo limitation. It's so much harder to browse threads without this feature that I assume its absence repels a lot of (new) users.

If the answer is "this incentivizes donations", then at least advertise that you get a "view replies" button for your money.

(Apologies if this has already been discussed at length, but if so: I couldn't find said discussion.)
