New Ant Man and the Wasp trailer just dropped.
It looks interesting to me honestly, it looks like after Infinity War, The MCU might go in a more different direction, still having a slightly comedic feel, but takes itself a bit more seriously. That, and it had probably the best product placement ever. Though the first Ant Man had the best as well, so not a big surprise.
New Mutants was just about every genre in fiction except for Superhero/action, so New Mutants isn’t really all that impressive.
For the next 3 years, we’ll be getting about 10 Superhero Movies a year, including the animated ones. While that sounds like a ton, and it does when some are released around the same time, but considering there are about 600 new movies every year, the marketing for them seems to be the issue.
Captain Underpants was legit one of the best of these I've seen in years. Isn't that sad?
No not really, considering it’s debatable on whether or not it’s even a superhero movie, or if it’s a great movie that just so happens to have a superhero for about 10 minutes.

tbh the only capeshit movies that have much interest for me are Deadpool 2, New Mutants, that animated Spidey movie, and Venom. New Mutants has me the most interested. The stuff I've seen is giving me some Dream Warriors vibes, and I fuckin' loves me some Dream Warriors.

I am just going to be blunt. My participation of the fandom wars have burned out my enthusiasm for both the MCU and DCEU, because it sucked a lot of the joy out of it for me. Without revealing too much, I got myself into pointless and circular arguments with an unnamed professional critic on an unnamed forum who had an obsessive hatred of the DCEU and mindlessly praised the MCU. It burned me out to the point where I am avoiding Black Panther because it is looking an overhyped piece of mediocrity. Ant-Man and Wasp looks reasonably good, but there is the law of diminishing returns on sequels. I enjoyed Paul Rudd so I'll see what happens.

The main superhero movie I'm looking forward to is Deadpool 2 because the first one was a riot and call me crazy, but I am somewhat optimistic for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. I quite enjoyed X-Men: Apocalypse so I'll see.

Still have some reservations on Aquaman, but have some cautious optimism for next year's Shazam.

So, how abbout that Infinity War movie huh? Looks pretty good.
Looks like the spoilers are right.

  • Steve Rogers is Nomad now and leads the Secret Avengers, formed by Black Widow and Falcon. Scarlet Witch, Hawkeye and Ant-Man went their different ways, and Ant-Man isn't even in the movie.
  • Steve's team all have minor roles. Early on, they rescue Scarlet Witch and Vision from the Children of Thanos and send them to Wakanda so Black Panther and his sister Shuri can extract the Mind Stone from the Vision and guard it against Thanos. When Thanos' forces invade Wakanda in the end, they return to help. Steve is the one that manages to kill Thanos' main enforcer Corvus Glaive after he kills Vision and defeats everyone else that tries to stop him. It is also in this scene that he uses the shield for the first time since the ending of "Civil War".
  • Thanos attacks the Asgardians' ship in search of the Space Stone, which Loki trades for Thanos' pardon and the lives of the refugees, becoming Thanos' advisor. Thor is severely beaten and cast out into space by Thanos, where he is later found by the Guardians of the Galaxy, who had been following Thanos' trail of destruction across the galaxy.
  • Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax and Mantis go to Knowhere to consult with the Collector, but find him being tortured by Thanos for the Reality Stone. Meanwhile, Thor, Rocket and Teen Groot visit the Dwarf King Eitri (Peter Dinklage), who forged Mjolnir, for weapons. Eitri has also forged the Infinity Gauntlet, and Thanos has cut off his hands so he can not build something powerful enough to destroy it. Thor finds an axe, Jarnbjorn, made from the same metal as Mjolnir, but it is unfinished, so Teen Groot gives his wood to make the handle.
  • There's a gag that, although Eitri is considered a "dwarf", he's actually massive by mortal standards. Thor goes up on his knee.
  • Thor doesn't get his eye back. He wears the eyepatch for the entire movie.
  • Iron Man definitely takes the spotlight, heading into space with Doctor Strange to meet Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy and stop Thanos. Spider-Man tags along and ends up getting injured in battle.
  • Black Panther unites the Wakandan tribe leaders - including M'Baku - to defend Wakanda, and brings Winter Soldier out of cryosleep to help fight Thanos' forces, providing him with a new arm. Hawkeye also joins the battle in the end.
  • Bruce Banner makes it back to Earth in a escape pod, but can't turn into the Hulk anymore. He pilots the Hulkbuster armor during the battle of Wakanda and fights Thanos' strongest enforcer, Cull Obsidian, who tears the Hulkbuster apart. He eventually turns into the Hulk again, bursts out of the Hulkbuster and defeats Cull Obsidian.
  • Doctor Strange develops a rivalry with Thanos' smartest enforcer, Ebony Maw, after he breaks into the Sanctum Sanctorum and uses his psychic powers to mindfuck everyone and steal the Time Stone.
  • Doctor Strange becomes good friends with both Iron Man and Spider-Man. Thor also gets along well with Star-Lord. Lots of humor come from Iron Man/Drax and Spider-Man/Teen Groot interactions.
  • Valkyrie has a minor appearance, having led the Asgardian refugees to safety after Loki's betrayal and Thor's apparent death.
  • Wong's appearance is also minor, hanging out at the Sanctum Sanctorum when Ebony Maw attacks and when Strange and Banner later meet Iron Man.
  • Thanos kills Gamora to get the Soul Stone. Its guardian reveals that one can only wield it by sacrificing the soul of a loved one. Since Gamora is one of Thanos' daughters, he "loves" her (as an asset, not as person), and her death grants him control of the Soul Stone. It is also what compels Nebula to join the others in order to avenge her sister.

How do we know those spoilers are right? Source?

About the first spoiler (if true, obviously)

I think Ant Man is going to come near the end of Avengers 3 as on set reports have him with Iron Man/Captain America & The Hulk in Avengers 4.

I'm not fussed. She's been a pretty underwhelming character and not one I'll miss tbh. But looking at the on set pics for Avengers 4, It won't really be a permanent death if I assume what Avengers 4 is about.

The main thing confirming some of these are merch leaks- a big one being the Hulkbuster lego kit.

Also lol they're gonna revive everyone in Avengers 4, tbh. The only person that'll probably die and stay dead is Cap and maybe Iron Man, and that's assuming Chris Evans/RDJ don't get talked into renewing contracts. If they don't, well, we'll probably start seeing the decline for the MCU- I really doubt the mantle change is going to go over as well with general audiences.

I doubt they’ll even change mantles for actors. The characters that die, will probably stay dead.
As for Black Panther just coming out, I’ve heard that it’s really, really good.
And not just because the main character is black.

I mean, after Infinity War, It's going to be really hard for audiences to keep coming back to the MCU. Either way, we're at the franchise's peak point now. The only way is down. Feige better have an ace up his sleeve if he wants this franchise to stay at the top, because right now, Avengers 3 & 4 are your big finales strictly speaking.

Apparently, Hellsoy is like if Shadow the Hedgehog was a movie
