Maybe they feel it's less authentic for a Japanese game to have Western characters? If anything, it could use more of them IMO. Smash is a celebration of gaming. The more the merrier.

Honestly I don’t know. Shit like Fnaf and Minecraft would attract all the fat autistic tard children and there’s only so much autism a community can take before imploding. Why do you think sonic and mlp is the way it is? With smash, at least there’s seriousness and wholesomeness that keep the autism at bay. But with Steve in.... I don’t know if we could take another character like him.
