she works with Ubisoft
Actually, a verified Ubisoft employee on Reddit confirmed she doesn't work for Ubisoft.

more often they are generally pleased someone took notice of their culture at all
This is true. Most Latinos love any positive form of their culture since less than 6% of the media in the United States has featured Latinos in it. Despite Latinos being the biggest and fastest growing minority, currently at 18%, comparing to Black Americans, they are 13% of the population and respectively get 13% media representation.

Fiestas are fun and lighthearted, so what's wrong with a fun and lighthearted game utilizing that? Now if Mario were dressed as Cesar Chavez, that could be disrespectful, but SJWs need to understand the difference between embracing a culture and ridiculing it. I guess since they don't because they think so lowly of minorities.

I found an actual Mexican who thinks Mario is racist, not surprisingly, they're in a long distance relationship with somebody in Canada. Imagine hating your own culture that much, you're projecting it onto Mario.

I'm a frijolero and I love this shit. Mario looks fucking awesome and that's what matters.
Same, I'm so glad Nintendo is even dedicating a whole world to Mexican/Latino culture. For a country that's 98% Japanese natives, focusing on Latino culture is rare. Even rarer for North America, despite way more Latinos living there.

One interesting thing I found, there's more Japanese people living on Brazil than there are Japanese people living in the US.

I've noticed that when people complain about racism in a context like this, they end up sounding way more racist than the thing they're complaining about. The way they're getting upset about mariachi Mario makes it seem like they think that sombreros and mariachi are a negative representation of Mexican culture. In reality, sombreros and mariachi music are fucking badass.

Fuck, I remember having an argument with someone who thought that just saying "Mexican" was racist. He understood that you aren't supposed to say all brown people are Mexicans, but somehow he decided the word itself was racist. If you think that calling someone Mexican is a horrible insult, you probably don't think very highly of Mexicans.

So in conclusion all these people hate Mexicans.

This is the one game I thought our outraged culture wouldn't fling shit at like chimps at the zoo, but I guess even one of the most family friendly franchises will spark tantrums at this point. Un-fucking-believable.

I want to honestly ask these people what games they do like, because I'm convinced they do not like games.
