This specifically is why this thread actually is a point of curiosity to me (beyond being entertaining both for the OP's naivety and other people in the thread acting like dipshits).

If this guy can make money off of this, it will serve as yet another comical example of Chris's laziness and lack of initiative, because if he had motivation and sense he should have been the one sorting through, appraising, and individually selling the cards in the first place.
Lets be real here, OP if he is who he claims has been doing this for years and MIGHT turn a small profit, Chris has no experience in evaluating or selling used cards so his best option is to sell them in bulk. $500 is not to be scoffed at considering they were just gathering dust, he got one lump sum for no work at all as opposed to spending hours researching and cataloguing every card in his collection just to make a few shekels more.

It makes me sad that a binder full of Pokemon cards survived the fire but Bob's impressive, decades-spanning Vinyl collection (that was probably actually worth something) went up in flames

It really depends on what music it was as well as the condition (if it isn't stored vertically then they typically warp which makes playback break).

Vinyl records are like pokemon cards in that they're only worth something if you find a buyer who is actually willing to pay the $200 price. Even if you have say 20-30 mint condition records its not necessarily easy to sell them unless you're patient and willing to hold them for potentially months/years.
