SAN DIEGO — A new study reveals that nearly half of the young people in the U.S. are doing away with deodorant.

A new poll from YouGov, a global public opinion and data company, found nearly 41 percent of 18 to 24-year-olds are ditching deodorant. That percentage was even higher for people ages 25 to 34 years old.

The study reports that young’uns simply don’t think they need to wear it, despite dermatologists encouraging deodorant use at least once a day, YouGov said.

Millennials and Gen Zers don’t lack hygiene in other areas, according to YouGov. They surpass other age groups when it comes to washing their hair every day, for example.

Pop star Justin Bieber, 25, and the company Schmidt’s Naturals used the poll to announce a new deodorant. Relying on baking soda to absorb sweat, the deodorant is plant-based and contains no chemicals, the company claims.

The vegan deodorant hits shelves in fall 2019.

One more reason to stay away from millenials.

Why? It's so easy to put on. At least Beiber's trying to do something about it, just got to market it right.
In a way I can see it as a "gateway drug" for conspiratards. They usually suggest that deodorants aren't natural, that they have too many chemicals -- which they have no idea how they work, but it don't matter, they're baaaad for you.

I remember seeing some shit where they said women get breast cancer more often because they shave their armpits so the deodorant actually goes on their skin.

Lemme tell ya, deodorant makes its way onto your skin through the hair.

Most people don't have a very strong odor. If you bathe every day you probably don't need it, and if you don't you're a pig in lipstick anyway. Even in the field, without sanitation, people hit equilibrium after about two/three days, and don't get much worse (assuming you do the basics like wipe your ass).

That's most people. Some motherfuckers have a powerful natural stink to them.

Most people's breath don't stink, yet it's good to brush your teeth anyways (for a variety of reasons besides good breath). I don't see the connection there.

Honestly, I know people that FREAK the fuck out if they don't wear deodorant, myself included. The fact that some people honestly don't give a shit if they smell like a walking onion is pretty sad and pathetic. It takes two seconds to put on, people.

I stopped using the deodorants made with that aluminum tetra-something stuff because they linked it to Alzheimers and cancer in an American Medical Journal a few years back.

But I still use the powder version of Tom's Deodorant because I'm not French and I have a little respect for my fellow passengers on the CTA train system.

Bathing is the equivalent of brushing your teeth. Roll-on deoderant (which I use) is more like chewing gum. Perfumes and spray deoderants are on par with grillz.

Have you smelled people from India?

Perfumes and spray deoderants are on par with grillz.
Perfumes have been around as long as modern humans and help to ease social tensions as well as evoke memory. Grillz just make you look stupid and cost too much.

What a surprise, as the number of disgusting gross shitskins pouring into the country increases, the number of people being disgusting and gross is increasing. But let me guess, despite the fact that Indians and Mexicans and Africans literally smell so bad your eyes start to water, this is a problem for white people to fix.

Please curb your racism, it's making me uncomfortable.

I'm sure a self-selected online poll that gives only percentages and no actual figures or indication of where they're getting their data from that's run by a site nobody gives a fuck about is definitely a good and valid measure of millennial purchasing habits.

Big Data is such cancer.

Wrong. Dousing yourself on Axe after a shower, or dousing yourself on Axe trying to hide the stink, is on par with grillz. When it comes to deodorant, less is more. I don't see no reason to stop using it but hey, to each his own.

I should create a poll here on KF and see what people think...
