IDK about spotify, but the yt compression is shit. I know a lot of people have a hard time tellling the difference, but once you get accustomed to it, it's annoying to listen to lower quality audio. mp3 @ 320k is fine, but 128kb is obvious and frustrating. Youtube supports opus audio but it often suffers from audio loss in transcoding.

Opus is actually a better format to transcode to than mp3 but people uploading to jewtube usually have the original files as mp3 so its a lossy to lossy transcode so the audio quality degrades. My funkwhale instance transcodes to 96kbps opus files from source flac files to my phone.
