I just watched the MATI Archive of the April 12th episode. After the total collapse of his restreaming service, and wanted offer the suggestion of something I have used in the past for self-hosted multi-streaming, datarhei Restreamer.

It's made to run in Docker; has a built in RTMP and SRT server for pushing streams to the app; or you can have it pull a stream over HTTP/HTTPS (HLS, DASH), RTP, RTSP, RTMP, and SRT. This includes YouTube videos, if you can get the playlist URL using something like yt-dlp.

You can run it in Docker, on x86_64 or ARM7/ARM8, with or without hardware acceleration (e.g., Intel VAAPI or nVidia CUDA). I've run it in AWS ECS before, which can be quite affordable if you're just using it for a few hours for an event, like a podcast. I think I spent less than a dollar for the 2 hour event I needed to multi-stream (e.g., YouTube and Facebook for one client, different YouTube channel and Instagram for the other party at the event.)

If you wanted to, you could move away from OBS. vMix exists, and can do overlays, keying, local recording, and multi-streaming out of the box. It's not "free" in any sense of the word, but is a powerful piece of software. Who the hell needs something like a Tricaster when Intel Computers w/ Nvidia 3060s exist? You can even run it in the cloud... but the system requirements probably make that a little expensive.

Veering even farther from where what I was originally here to post, if you want some easy overlays/lower thirds, an IRL acquaintance showed me this little program, SPX Graphics. It controlled via web interface, you can run it on another machine, locally or in the cloud, and it is stupid easy to get working in OBS.

What (if anything) are other kiwi's in video production using for their local church service, little league sports broadcaster side gig?

oh fuck yeah finally my time to shine.

i am using this rtmp tool from a vtuber chink nigger which lets you manually type in the streaming platforms servers and streaming keys. you gotta divide your uploadspeed by the amount of platforms you stream on, so you can enter the proper amount of bitrate in your OBS, so the stream wont drop off from time to time. (in my case i had to change my router but everything works now, i got less stream kills now.)

for the chat, the most comfortable widget for me personally is AxelChat, however it struggles sometimes to connect to DLive because autism and shit idk. also you gotta always enter your youtube livestream URL each time you do a new stream because fuck jewtube thats why.

for the Alerts i use Botrix, doesnt support like all (my) platforms but it does the trick for the big ones, easy customizable for each platform without a lot of headache.

now i just need an audience and people who throw money at me :(

Edit: if you need a free alternative to all of this, use restream.io, but if you want more than 2 platforms you gotta pay 15 bucks for 7 platforms

Multiple RTMP gave me a lot of reds on virustotal, I went with aitum (Plugin).

Is Axelchat good enough or are there much better ones? I found sheepChat but it's freeware.

There should be a Streaming general on the forum btw.

sheepchat didnt work at all for me. i switched from axelchat to social_stream which is better because axelchat decided to no longer give me a sound when ppl are chatting.

i am currently paying 36 € for a seedbox to transfer my OBS Stream into the upload speed from the seedbox into 8 platforms. you need to install and configure docker and the "restreamer" docker app. thank you @MerelyAPlateOfSpaghetti

bumping the thread because 2026:

i stopped doing all the crazy ass multistreaming thingys because it wasnt working out for me in any way, shape or form, also the seedbox was drilling a hole into my purse, so i just decided to stream on jewtube for the foreseeable future.

since i started to jump to linux mint in the last 2 weeks, the only possible way to dual output stream (since streamlabs only works on windows) is either via OBS and turning on jewtubes build-in dual output option each time, (which takes your main stream and zooms it for the phones which is meh) or you make two channels and the pc stream is on one channel, and the phone stream with the vertical stream plugin (to attract shorts-viewers in your livestream). because streamlabs does black magic with 2 livestreams on one channel lol.
