There are now rumors floating around that the Dumber Bros had a ghostwriter - the wife of one of the Dumbers who also directed Fear Street. When she divorced him the series went downhill. That would explain their behaviour in the documentary. One of them even says "We never wanted to write, only direct".

There were shady things going on behind the scenes. The Duffers are sharlatans. They won't have any luck at Paramount either because their whole career is based on lies and deception.

Would explain alot, before this show they had only done a movie called "Hidden" and produced some episodes of something called "Wayward Pines"

The ending spider did make me think of the tarrasque which is kind of fun. If they had spent most of the season just fighting a tarrasque spider instead of everything else it might have been satisfying.

Have it pop up in Hawkins and smashing stuff before returning to the rift, desperately following it to try to contain it, focus on survival while piecing together a plan while dodging monsters, maybe even planning to sacrifice themselves to lock it out of the world. Quiet moments could be used for reflection, the world could kill or cripple some of the cast.

Too much money, too many hard choices but would have been different. 3e_MM_Tarrasque.jpg

Can’t link directly because I got blocked, but this dude is currently spazzing out on Twitter because he’s convinced himself he found proof that Conformity-Whatever is real and is fighting everyone in the replies calling him an idiot.

yknow even the game of thrones and arcane fans didnt get this desperate
Arcane went through a similar development: the story was birthed in 2015, had to be completely rewritten, the seasons were written back to back and by the time 2020 came around animators were given unfinished scripts. We had the benefit of having the first five episodes leaked to soften the blow. Likewise, people who saw GOT S8 know the pain. People even signed a petition to remake S8 and Charles Dance approved it, but Kit Harington just came out and said those people were idiots.

In any case, unfinished scripts or plot lines will end your series and this is becoming a trend. 'Heroes' also had a strong first season and shat the bed in later seasons.

I keep hearing that the show was plagiarized, but from whom, and from what source?
‘Stranger Things’ Plagiarism Suit Withdrawn By Plaintiff Just Before Trial

“In his initial April 2, 2018 filing, Kessler claimed he pitched the concept for what became Stranger Things to the Duffer siblings at a 2014 Tribeca Film Festival party. To add meat on that bone, the Montauk director also declared that not long afterwards, he handed over “the script, ideas, story and film” to the duo. Kessler’s breach of implied contract suit asserts that the Duffers used his material to craft what became the Netflix series, which during its early stages went under the working title The Montauk Project.

As is the standard PR response in such David and Demogorgon cases, the Duffers almost immediately slammed the plaintiff’s case as “meritless” in April last year in the first of several efforts to shut it down – with “full support” from the streaming service.

Having said that, last month Stern declined to dismiss the case. In his ruling at the time, he said he would let the matter go to trial because the Duffers hadn’t provided significant evidence of “independent creation” that they came up with the idea for Stranger Things.

In that context, when the Duffer Brothers’ project with Netflix was first announced in 2015, it was called Montauk. With the name later changed for what one attorney in court today called likely “legal issues,” the project was also set in Long Island (it later shifted to Indiana), with other similarities to Kessler’s script including a missing boy, a nearby military base conducting experiments on children, and a monster from another dimension that looks like a toy.”

I had high hopes for the show, I grew up hearing the Montauk conspiracy theories. Seriously disappointed in the trajectory it went after S1.

Finished the series. Wow did they ever shit the bed with this one. So many plot holes, contradictions, random throw-away lines making zero sense. (Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler making out in high school when in the earlier seasons it was made out that they had a significant age gap, Hopper and Joyce going to high school with Henry!?, Holly being WAY older than she should be between 1983 to 1987), ZERO demogorgons showing up in the last episode, the massive contradiction that is the complete lack of the bats in season 5, from season 4, a fucking ALTERNATE DIMENSION AND A MAGICAL SPACE ROCK!? WHAT THE FUCK!?

Edit: In the end OP was right, it really was about alternate dimensions the whole time.

Second Edit: I just want to point out that the Russians captured a live Demogorgan (or a Demodog that grew up, unclear), and transported it out of Hawkins and all the way back to Russia, since we now know that it would be impossible to open a gate to the upside down outside of Hawkins, because there is no upside down outside of Hawkins. How they do this is a mystery.

Última edición:
Why can the other numbers speak English perfectly fine but Eleven is a retard? Even in the first season, which I actually liked, I was always confused why this psychic superweapon has "I learned Spanish from Dora the Explorer" level English and iirc was illiterate. Fans said that Papa was focusing on her powers and didn't bother teaching her the basics, but it's not like she was great with her powers either. Every time she used her powers, her nose would bleed, which is implying that she is exerting a lot of energy to do the simplest things.
Who am I kidding? I know the real reasons.
Why does she speak in broken English? Because E.T. spoke in broken English.
Why does her nose bleed when she uses her powers? Because that happened to the father in Firestarter.

So the Duffer Brothers latest show was just canceled when it has only been out for a couple of months.

So how is that plan of mocking fans for wanting an ending that didn't hate them or the characters of their one hit show playing out for them.

My sister and I use to watch this show together, but after season three(Which I took the day off of work to watch with her)made it clear they had TDS and hated the very concept of families, heterosexuality, and story and character arcs that made sense, we gave up.
