Thinking about this season more, and ... I can't be the only one who is completely and utterly offput by what the kid actors were physically asked to do when filming?

I mean, imagine being a director telling children to pretend that something is being forced into their mouths. What parent in their right mind would let their child film scenes like that? And I'm wondering if the child actors and their parents didn't know what exactly was going to be CGI'd in during post-production? Imagine being a parent not knowing what was going to be the final product and watching the final product is how you find out-- by seeing CGI tentacles, of all things, being forced into children's mouths. I would be going scorched earth on Netflix.

I mean, we've seen child actors be in media that is made for adults. Take Aliens, for example. Aliens didn't actually include a scene where Newt (or her brother, or any other child) were being impregnated by the face hugger though. And not showing that stuff doesn't take away from the suspense or urgency of that movie whatsoever.

It's just really skeevy to actually be actually showing this stuff and to be asking kids to film this stuff. I dunno, actually seeing it just rubs me the wrong way and it frankly pisses me off. And Hollywood pretends to wonder why so many child actors grow up to be trainwrecks? Come on.

I can't be the only one who finds these very specific choices weird, right?
I've only seen gifs and clips of S5 Holly and something about her character feels like pedo bait to me. I don't know what it is but I get bad vibes. Does her actress have lip fillers? She looks like she has them.

Vecna was literally grooming her, a bunch of other children, but something about her in particular just felt wrong to watch.

She is styled in a really suspect way, imo. Dressed too childishly, wearing too much make-up, has her hair styled like a much younger child and is played by an actress much too old for the character.

If you look at Max in season 2, who's meant to be about 12/13 she looks fresh faced, her hair is mostly down, or tied in a practical way. Her clothes are just normal, because long before the 80s it was the norm for kids to wear clothes that were just smaller versions of normal fashions. Her mannerisms are those of a kid.

Holly who is meant to be no more than 9, is wearing obvious make-up that wouldn't be out of place on an adult woman. She's wearing pigtails all the time, which no self-respecting girl her age would wear in the mid-late 80s, that was a hair style for toddlers to maybe five year olds. (An older girl with a small child's hairstyle is even a plotpoint in The Babysitters Club books from that era.) The way Holly dresses in both the real world and in Vecna's house is babyish, look at how all the other kids are just wearing the same style clothes as everyone else but Holly is dressed like a doll. And it looks especially weird as the actor was 12/13 at the time of filming and if anything has the appearance and mannerisms of an older teen, while occasionally, but totally inconsistently, having the dialogue of a young child.

It distracted from the story so much that I genuinely did find myself wondering if it wasn't a series of weird mistakes but actually intentional for woodchipper reasons.

Would not be surprised if the poor thing is being molested by old worthless kikes, just like what logically happened to the Will actor.

Holy sweet Jesus Jonathan's anti-capitalist movie spiel was dumb and cringe as fuck. I can't believe how incredibly embarrassing it was to even include that. Well, I stuck to my original plan and only watched the Will gay episode and the finale, I don't feel like I missed anything at all. They done did my boy Prince dirty including those songs in the finale holy shit did they not fit in at all.

Anyways I agree with most of the complaints here, so I'll end it with this: I'm glad it's done I enjoyed the series for what it was but for fuck's sake 10 years for 5 seasons is way too long. Also, the Duffer brothers suck.

She's very obviously the show runners new girl now that Millie is a grown woman. Way to much make-up for a 12 or 13 year old girl and they had her dressed up in an outfit for most of the season that was clearly someones fetish.

I found the scenes with her really uncomfortable but that seemed to be the theme of what i bothered to watch. MBBs cameltoe, two very unhealthily skinny women that we are supposed to pretend don't look awful, the gay stuff. It all seemed like hack clickbait and the show itself was just pretty fucking terrible.

A Stranger Things documentary came out and it revealed that the Duffer faggots went the Marvel route & filmed without a finished script.

:story:

Fans are furious. They had years to plan the ending but these lazy hacks didn't give a shit.

Not only that but there is a scene where one of them is on a laptop and you can see the Chatgpt symbol.

Just gonna respond to these two posts at the same time.

Yes, the stuff with Holly was sus. Yes, Vecna was literally grooming children.

Given the "tentacles to the mouth" imagery used on the child actors in this season, the scene where Holly changes her clothes and is given a tape of Tiffany's "I Think We're Alone Now" felt so skeevy.

I'm fine with Vecna being the worst of the worst scum of the earth (I mean, I'm a fan of Nightmare on Elm Street, and Freddy most definitely had pedo undertones and implications to his character), but it was presented in such a ... Weird way. Not in a "wow, this is effectively scary" way, it's in a "Dan Schneider" way. That's the best possible way I can put it.

And it's fucking bleak that Will got molested as a child and the molester basically used Will's sexuality as a weapon against him for the entire show, and how we as the audience are supposed to applaud him being gay? What in the hell are you trying to say with this, Netflix? lol.

The show is 100% coming back in some form. They didn't write a definitive ending because of this.

I presume the prompt in Chatgpt was "write me a Stephen King book".

>Gets molested by Vecna
>Becomes gay

What did the Duffer brothers mean with this?

To activate my inner sperg for a moment and fixate on something smaller-scale than the pacing, plot holes, themes, etc- it bugged me that they called Will a "sorcerer", and then had a couple of nerds insist upon the classification. His powers are innate!

Will's powers aren't "innate". Eleven's are. She's the sorcerer. Will is the one who has to "study" his magic, he's the wizard. Stupid Duffers.

I think he would be a warlock, since he derives his abilities from a magical creature.
