First principle, late 00s and early 10s hipsterdom was not actually big on stompclaphey because it was too popular. Second it alchemically resulted in the Fleet Foxes's first two albums so it was worth the squeeze. Crack up was gay asf but Shore was alright. Third, since it became a popular genre, it was the first arrow, with butt country being the malformed second, that began to kill hip hop's total domination of the popular music genre.
 
There's a lot of "Stomp Clap, Hey!" Christian rock that I was partial too. But, I think they were doing that sort of thing before the hipsters. Also, anything bluegrassy is kind of cool, whether it's popular, or not.
 
I remember it more because it became in vogue to hate it 10 to 15 years later, at the time I thought it was mostly forgettable and blended into the background.
