This remains my favorite description of Steven Universe ever, even if I don't fully agree with all the opinions.

 
I actually enjoyed this show when it came out. It took a while to get translated over here but I thought it was actually cute until it started attacking my emotions.
Before I even knew much about tumblr I use to be excited just to see other talk about how good the show was. And as a artist I love seeing fan art from other people. I honestly think when they started showing lesbian references that's when the fandom just went fucking wild.
 
I've never singlemindedly avoided any fandom as much as I avoid the Steven Universe fandom because I adore this show and the hardcore fans seem to be made up entirely of garbage people who will ruin anything they touch.

The new promo is rad as hell though

I think the biggest question is "Why can't Cartoon Network just air the damn thing on a consistent schedule." At this point, I'm pretty sure you can air the series straight on without taking a break for at least 3-4 months.
 
Lmao, so 4chan decided to fuck with Tumblr by creating a blog dedicated to Steven Universe edits... and the edits are all making the characters white/blonde/thin/etc. It went over as well as you'd expect.

I said this would be a great idea months ago somewhere in this thread probably, but was too lazy to do it.

I have heard one of the most absurd things/rumors in regard of an animated show by a fan of SU recently. Get this: Supposedly, the reason as of why season 2 was rather short and NOW s3 starts and tries to be as much of actual plot as possible is as followed: CN axed episodes.
I tried to find confirmation myself (so far nothing unfortunately) but the guy I know stated that supposedly there were more episodes of SU already made than aired. Only these episodes would have been again more filler than something related to the actual plot. But now CN has enough of filler cause of fans and wants the plot going on. As a result, Sugar and company axed most episodes and are now busy getting the plotlines going, cause they are afraid the fans will leave sooner than later.
 
I don't really watch the show, but you can't really headcannon the Crystal Gems as any race because they're aliens and have biology that is vastly different to ours, therefore the concept of race is moot to them. Albeit, they are literally people of color, but still.
Also, isn't Steven a white cishet male?

None of that is true. Season 3 is just the second half of season 2. CN is just splitting up seasons so that they can have more seasons.

Honestly, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The combat scene between Alexandrite and Malachite was fucking awesome. It was flashy and dynamic and was one hell of a way to kick off the show coming off of hiatus. I know it was one of the leaked clips that CN UK posted online but I didn't watch it until it premiered.

The Cluster bubbling was dank imo. I didn't expect Steven to friendship speech it but I can honestly say it didn't surprise me. What's cool is we have another power that Steven's showed off now maybe? I dunno what the fuck was happening with him hearing the Cluster but it was trippy and fun to watch.
