Knowing nothing about the show or fans other than what I have read here, I hope they do more shows like the crossover. I hope they do so many that the fandom implodes with rage just because it would be hilarious.
 
One of my favorite artists got hatemail for drawing this.

They got a massive flood of hate comments for drawing a picture of a ship that they know full well is unhealthy, and that they are portraying as unhealthy. Hell, they even posted these lyrics in the description:

I am drowning.
There is no sign of land.
You are coming down with me,
Hand in unlovable hand.

And I hope you die,
I hope we both die.

No one seemed to understand that it's possible to like fictional unhealthy relationships while understanding that they're unhealthy.

These people don't seem to understand the difference between fact and fiction very well.

I'm most amused in that butthurt megapost that one of them slips and says SU porn is okay. Whoops.

I know. The characters look white despite being Japanese, they wear short skirts, heels, jewelry and form-fitting outfits; Tuxedo Mask often has to burst in to help them, the scouts are thin and leggy, Serena/Usagii's boyfriend could be a bit of a dick to her, there's no dark-skinned people and it's a pretty girly show. Other than the lesbian couple, if this show was being released today, the SJWs would probably hate it.

Of course Amethyst turning into a man to be a professional wrestler is ok, but any other cross-dressing (like that scene in Mulan) is problematic.

Didn't they recently make a new Sailor Moon anime, and didn't the SJWs get up in arms over what happens in it compared to the original? (I'm not too familiar with either of the series, so I don't know any specifics, but it's the first thing that popped in my mind when you said that about SM being released today.)

Also, I fully expect the SU fandom to continue whining about the Uncle Grandpa crossover in a year's time. (Unless they move on to a show that they don't deem to be "transmisogynistic" and forget all about SU, that is.)

From what I saw they initially did the "KEEP THIS AWAY FROM BRONIES" thing but then it turned out to be a horrifically animated piece of crap cash grab that they dropped almost immediately.

It took them over four years for them to stop trying to "take back" MLP in earnest and stop caring about it. Sorry.
