StarWipe
is a spin-off of the website, The AV Club, which itself is a spin-off of The Onion. Trying to take a similar aim to gossip websites like TMZ and Perez Hilton, the website is instead filled with weak "satire" along with loads of SJW sperging and a holier-than-thou attitude towards everyone else. I think their About page can sum it up:
About dijo:
StarWipe is the most trusted source in the completely untrustworthy realm of celebrity gossip, supplying a constant stream of scurrilous, invasive information on the lives of famous people, so that its readers can feel better about not being famous themselves. Whether scrutinizing a star’s clothes, their relationships, or their laughable attempts to maintain some reasonable expectation of privacy, StarWipe remains dedicated to ensuring that celebrities rue the day they ever decided to pursue life as a public figure. We will also talk about their hair.

Along with providing the standard of excellence in reporting on meaningless garbage just because it happens to involve someone who was in a movie, StarWipe also does the important work of supporting America’s teeming underclass of paparazzi, human parasites who would otherwise be forced to find a place in a job market that doesn’t value their skills of taking unflattering photographs or asking presumptuously personal questions. Many of them would likely end up punched. Thus, when combined with its dangling of famous, pretty faces before suicidal office drones who have nothing else to live for, StarWipe is singlehandedly responsible for keeping the nation’s economy humming. You’re welcome.

StarWipe’s readership numbers in the millions and definitely includes George Clooney, because he is a huge narcissist. Hi, George.

I initially ignored this website until I accidentally clicked on it and read articles that include Jared Fogle being attacked in prison, that was really the author's views regarding the prison system of America peppered and shaming people who cheered on him getting beat up with lame attempts at jokes, (https://web.archive.org/web/2016031...ison-violence-delights-civilized-justice-2297) and actually trying to defend drunk drivers saying that they're "youthful errors in judgement" and that the US needs to follow Europe in regards to wiping offenses clean, like the website is run by Bernie Sanders supporters. (https://web.archive.org/slideshow/debby-ryan-arrested-duiheres-5-more-disney-stars-w-2540) I know and work with people who lost family members to drunk drivers, and I'm sure they'd really appreciate this website saying their monumental, indefensible fuck-ups are "human errors" while patting themselves on the back for being better than everyone else. If anyone else has more "hilarious" articles from here, post below.

What makes you think that it isn't parodying the blatant political agendas in tabloids

Because if you read The AV Club, a lot of their views line up, despite the fact that it's doesn't have the "parody" excuse StarWipe has. And a good parody website would take the trope of the author shoving their blatant political and social views down the reader's throat and exaggerate it to the point of absurdity, not make the reader feel depressed at the end of an article by stating their views with no sense of irony or self-awareness.

Última edición:
Their satire sucks compared to the main Onion site and Clickhole, and it's pretty clear that these guys are way too mad about the industry they're criticizing. Beyond that I can't really see this thread providing anything except for immense butthurt over politics.

The AVclub isn't really a paradox site, even though it was included in the back of the Onion when it was published in paper format, but is more or less a section on media, and doing things such as giving reviews on media.
