I don't care what anyone sez
Lexx is good TV. I always tuned in to watch it just to see what new crazy shit was going to happen this week.
Literal giant ass lady tongue fucking a bug the size of a city?
Check!
Crazed sex manic forcing disembodied brains in jars to sing pop songs?
Check!
Hot, mostly naked girl using nipples spurting cum colored water to shower?
Check!
How could you not watch that? Seriously.
Both Lexx and Farscape are awesome Sci-Fi in their own ways, pushing the genre forward just like Trek and Star Wars did just in...different ways,
More on topic, the more I watch and think about ST:E the more I enjoy it. It's not great Trek, but it is good Trek. But it's not the big things that I enjoy. Rather it's the small incidentals from the side characters. The bits and pieces we get that flesh out more of the background and world of Trek.
In one of the last episodes the Vulcan Ambassador Soval tells Admiral Fischer the truth. That Vulcan's were trying to hold humanity back and when Fischer ask why he just says that humans scare Vulcan's. That High Command is indeed terrified of what humanity may become because of how far they have come in such a short time.
"You humans did in mere decades what took us Vulcan's centuries to do. How could we not be terrified by that?"
And he's right.
In less then a decade as a "warp" society humanity went from tottering around our own solar system to venturing out into interstellar space and then commenced to fucking end a decades long war between 3 more advanced races who absolutely despised each other, wielding them all into not just a peace but into a co-operative and enduring Federation that would change the very essence of the galaxy going forward all IN LESS THEN 4 YEARS!
Sure sure, Archer had help on all sides by some truly heroic and long sighted members of those races (Shran, Gral, Soval and T'Pol) to bring everyone to the table but damn son, that's some accomplishment.
The Vulcan's were right to be afraid.
