Does he even know it's called Starfleet Academy? This sounds like someone gave him a writing prompt, "complain about bigots cancelling a random Star Trek show". If it was his social media manager again, I'd expect her to give some name or detail that made it feel pointed.
It's like that time someone goaded a fading Stan Lee into clapping back against haters. I forget the specifics but it was one of his last public media statements.

The endpoint is ENT. Ignore the very last episode or file it away as bad fan fiction. Other than that, all pre-2005 Trek is at least watchable. Some episodes are better than others. Some are outright weird. But compared to all of nu-Trek, even the worst episodes of old-Trek are excellent television.
Heck, even dogshit like DS9's "Meridian" has a strong B-plot that raises questions of a quality nu-Trek never reached.

I know, massive disappointment. I felt the same when I realized the Iron Sheik just doesn't call people faggots on twitter all day.
Hell, if I were a 95 year old man, I'd spend my last years doing anything but arguing with fucking ninnies on twitter.
You start at "The Cage" and end at "Terra Prime".
Not everything will be good, there's alot of absolute dogshit episodes all over trek (TNG Season 1 and 2 for example, stuff like Spock's Brain in TOS or Threshold in Yoyager etc.), but just sit through it to get to get good stuff.

I thought this had been known going back a decade or so, during the Great Autism War, but I also could've sworn it came up on the episode of Frakes & Spiner's podcast with Levar Burton, and searching the transcript for "Shatner", "twitter", "block" or "blocked" isn't coming up with anything.

Well, as it wasn't as good as the other series, but it is better than Discovery and all the other Kurtzman-slop. ENT today is a reminder of how good we used to have it.

Viacom split into CBS (TV) and Paramount (movies) at that point, Trek rights went to CBS who licensed cinema production to Bad Robot. I think JJ Abrams was in the good graces of Les Moonves (who shortly ran Viacom before CBS) for strong box office on Mission Impossible 3.
Later when CBS was set to produce Discovery themselves, Bryan Fuller was in charge and it was allegedly going to be Klingon War stories mixed with continuity porn. Then Bad Robot influenced them to license TV creation to their 'friends' Secret Hideout (aka many people from Bad Robot particularly Alex Kurtzman.) Before CBS and Paramount re-merged, Discovery was the flagship series of the streaming service CBS All-Access, which turned into Paramount+.

There might have been some Trek Fatigue since it came out after/during the tail end of 21 seasons of TNG, DS9 and Voyager, along with 6 movies, before streaming and while TV seasons were still 20+ episodes each.

A lot of blame usually goes to "franchise fatigue" (Star Trek being continuously on since 1987, which could explain the low viewership over ENT's run) and a producer who didn't understand Trek or Sci-Fi in general. Or maybe people just weren't in the mood for sci-fi utopia in a post 9/11 world? Who knows.
I'm repeating myself here, but ENT gets a shit on alot and most of it is unjustified. Season 3 and 4 of ENT are better than most episodes of Voyager, better than TNG Season 7 (not to mention 1 and 2) and DS9 up to the third season IMO.

Flashy isn't really the right word. It's more about bad writing, bad messages, and misunderstanding of the core of Trek. The first one is alright shlock if you ignore your brain but the second is complete retardo and immoral as well as anti-science, character-destroying, and continuity-wrecking. JJ Trek could have easily been new ship, new crew, new adventures which would solve at least half their problems.

It fucked shit up in every possible way. Every single series since then had a super weapon threatening to blow up a planet, galaxy or the universe or a story about villains trying to get revenge or starting shit with super weapons that can blow up a planet, the galaxy or the universe. That crap gets tired pretty fast. There is not one nu-Trek series that got more episodes than two seasons of old-Trek. Not one.
And that's without shoving dated or hot button issues and contemporary retardo-politics and especially language into everything they've done since 2009. That's perhaps the bigger reason why nu-Trek series got perhaps 50 episodes, tops, and then were unceremoniously shelved. You can't realistically catch a large enough audience with shitlib faggotry and outright trannies. That shit will appear as ridiculous in less than ten years from now. The crap they did ten years ago already is that. But you can go back to any episode of TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY and ENT, and get intellectual value out of them.
There's a reason why people still talk about Tuvix and dissect the decision Basedway made. The same discussion is done with "The Measure or a Man", or "The Wounded" or ITPML. That stuff is just timeless, because it touches issues that are much older than shitlib bullshit.

I think Nerdrotic is right in saying that the Kelvin version is the beginning of the end for Trek. 09 was kinda bad, but people were willing to give it a Mulligan because it was trying to reach a new audience i.e. normies. Then when you dissect 09, it gets worse on rewatch because now you notice all kinds of dumb plotholes like Nero floating in space for twenty years or Nero swearing revenge on Old Spock. In retrospect, it's a good thing Shatner isn't in this movie as his appearance would have been incredibly contrived.
Then Into Darkness came out and that movie really pissed people off for all kinds of reasons, mainly that it shamelessly and incompetently rips off Wrath of Khan. Cumberbatch was simply the wrong actor for that particular role and the character he does play on screen is like a shitty version of Smaug, which lacks the charisma that Ricardo Montalban had. Or outright ripping off the death scene in WoK with the characters swapped so that Spock can get really mad and punch Khan in the face over and over again. Also, magic blood that can bring Kirk back to life from radiation sickness. There's so much dumb the only way to keep my essay organized is to dissect it scene by scene in order.
Beyond outright bombed. In fairness, it's like 09 where it's largely inoffensive action schlock, but it's trying to damage control Into Darkness so the audience had left at that point. I'm of the opinion that if this was the sequel to 09, it would at least have retained the audience it generated and could have spun off for a streaming miniseries, but it isn't.
To their credit, the Kelvin movies aren't woke like anything post ST: Discovery, but they are of the Michael Bay school of directing kinds of movies where they fundamentally are dumb action movies with bad characters.
