It’s one of those gimmick premises (Trill civil war) that basically throws out ST's philosophical framework just to juice a paperback, which of course lands flat with a subsection of readers. Not that Trek tie-ins are alone in doing this...

Geez, remember when Dark Empire was the worst we had of Star wars.

The JJ had to take it, put a chick in it and make it gay and lame.

Maybe transporters in Star Trek somehow don't violate that "spatial tracking identity" thing, since that "form tracking identity" clearly doesn't work? It's clearly shown in the "Realm of Fear" episode that the transporter doesn't destroy the person and merely constructs a duplicate at the other end, as we can see from that Broccoli Barclay POV.

To be fair, David Mack was a huge contributor to all of that, and we've learned since what a tremendous faggot David Mack is.
Lol, he's the one behind the Andorian gender crisis. Of course he went to bat for Rick.

Interestingly enough, he came up with the seed of the story that became the Nog PTSD episode, though he admits Ronald D. Moore was the one who transformed it into what we saw on DS9. So at some point he did have some good ideas.

Even a broken cock can fuck once a day, or something.

Yeah the theory is they don't copy you, they convert you into energy and then beam that energy somewhere and rematerializes it. I imagine since the energy that contained your consciousness is still the same that was beamed down that's why you're basically still the same person and not a clone.

>he believes what starfleet says
go stand next to a console

Why do they pack these consoles with C4?
It's the Pakled workers with temporary worker visas that Utopia Planitia Fleet Yards have hired to replace native born Federation citizens. They aren't planting explosives in the consoles, they're just that shit at their jobs that the consoles explode if you look at them wrong and the substandard parts used in ship building.

I don't know why, but now I'm picturing a Pakled workers' union.
