I thought they were a separate species that happened to live in the toxic seas, I don't recall Andross creating them. Then again, for Command I only watched a LP so maybe it was explained in another route.
Another plot-hole is that why no-one did anything with that toxic planet so far, be it blowing it up, or setting up an alarm system of some sort.

After the Aparoids they are just underwhelming, combined with the fact even the devs are being ambiguous about Command's canocity I have to say that if you ask me the SF64 timeline just ended with the tunnel war in Assault.
Peppy having a wife named Vivian has actually been lore since 64, but I think it was only mentioned on a hidden away part of the old Japanese SF64 website. The same section of the site (written from Slippy's perspective) also mentions Slippy's dad Beltino Toad before he got introduced in Assault, saying he's an engineer at Space Dynamics, the company that developed the Arwing which is run by a tanuki named Yaru de Pon, who's the guy who talks to you in 64's training mode.Command was really bad about pulling stuff out of its ass, like Peppy having a wife and daughter the whole time. I don't mind the idea of him being a family man but it makes him come across as an asshole for never bringing up his family a single time until after he retired
That’s the thing. A simple rewrite to have the Anglars as like “This alien race was armed and equipped by Andross at some point.”I mean the Anglars were created by Andross and are basically the exactly same shit as him and his goons but now fish
Great minds think alike because that’s what I thought.Interestingly, he says that Yaru de Pon is rumored to be involved in illegal weapons trading, which sounds like something that could be a plot point that was never used in a game. Maybe he made hidden deals with Andross that led to the Wolfen being developed based off the Arwing's technology? But that's just my theory. A GAME THEORY! Thanks for reading.
To be fair most people also don't know that Fox's mom Vixy from the comic was alive the entire time during the 64 timeline, or that Fox's family lives on the planet Papetoon which is on the other end of the galaxy compared to the Lylat system, which rises the question why he always exclusively has to fuck around there.Peppy having a wife named Vivian has actually been lore since 64, but I think it was only mentioned on a hidden away part of the old Japanese SF64 website. That's mostly from the game's manual that mentions that Krystal is the sole survivor of the doomed planet Cerinia and that she reacts pretty shocked to Andross's presence. But since it's Adventure lore it's super half assed and never elaborated on.I wasn't aware Andross also blew up her planet for the lulz. Was that before the assault on Corneria? IIRC it happened a long time ago.
Interdasting. Who will be the final enemy? Nintendo's Lawyers?
Considering that even the devs's of Command are kinda contradictory about its canocity I would say the Aparoids kinda were the final boss of Star Fox.The Aparoids should have stayed as the series' main enemy, they're pretty much the Tyranids combined with the Flood, it's always the kind of final boss most Space-faring civilizations face in media.
Another plot-hole is that why no-one did anything with that toxic planet so far, be it blowing it up, or setting up an alarm system of some sort.
Interestingly enough so far Event Horizon's concept seems to be that Venom was heavily put under control of Corneria after the Lylat Wars and forcefully demilitarized, something that most of the local population sees as an ongoing unfair repression and makes them seek alliances with other governments like the Anglars and the Sharpclaw (who to be fair are more like the SF equivalent of the random autistic desert terrorist gang that governements support for whatever reason) in an attempt to regain their military power. That’s the thing. A simple rewrite to have the Anglars as like “This alien race was armed and equipped by Andross at some point.”
That would make the Cornerian faction grey alright but, since the other side are forces of Space Monkeygele, or Bio-Borgs, that point is moot. There should have been another storyline arc before Assault.Interestingly, he says that Yaru de Pon is rumored to be involved in illegal weapons trading, which sounds like something that could be a plot point that was never used in a game.
That's what would make most sense. That’s the thing. A simple rewrite to have the Anglars as like “This alien race was armed and equipped by Andross at some point.”
Ugh, now you made me think of Krys suddenly acting like that traitorous hoe from SM.Though this would be interesting and very much akin to Stardust Memories and the whole Anaheim plot.
Fox mentions his homeworld in a "blink and you miss it" Starlink game. Maybe the incoming re-re-reboot will mention this. And yeah, they have FTL so it makes sense to have other systems populated to some degree besides the Lylat one. Unfortunately, Nintendo didn't get that memo.o be fair most people also don't know that Fox's mom Vixy from the comic was alive the entire time during the 64 timeline, or that Fox's family lives on the planet Papetoon which is on the other end of the galaxy compared to the Lylat system, which rises the question why he always exclusively has to fuck around there
I'll have to check these manuals at some point but I don't expect much. I recall Sonic Heroes calling Eggman a feminist, kek.hat's mostly from the game's manual that mentions that Krystal is the sole survivor of the doomed planet Cerinia and that she reacts pretty shocked to Andross's presence. But since it's Adventure lore it's super half assed and never elaborated on.
Who cares?hell Event Horizon is also supposed to end with a "What the fuck has happened to Cerinia?" plotline.
Reminds me that Ace Combat 3 is part of a long timeline connecting all the games.Considering that even the devs's of Command are kinda contradictory about its canocity I would say the Aparoids kinda were the final boss of Star Fox.
And funnily enough the entire idea behind the Aparoids was Namco thinking that putting the bugs from their old Galaga games into Star Fox would be a neat reference.
So, the idea from the A Fox in Space show, then? In the OG canon it's a barren planet. In this incoming reboot, it seems they knew it was a toxic hellhole from the start*, so exiling Andross here was almost a certain doom.Interestingly enough so far Event Horizon's concept seems to be that Venom was heavily put under control of Corneria after the Lylat Wars and forcefully demilitarized, something that most of the local population sees as an ongoing unfair repression and makes them seek alliances with other governments like the Anglars and the Sharpclaw (who to be fair are more like the SF equivalent of the random autistic desert terrorist gang that governements support for whatever reason) in an attempt to regain their military power.
I am literally a war profiteer thanks to my career before retirement.
You have no idea how much time the SF fandom has spent mindraping themselves over that nothingburger. Which is funny since the DP leak came out we know that Cerinia is just a renamed version of Animus which also doesn't has that much going on. (Well atleast in the og Dinosaur Planet, not completly sure what our autistic fanfix author will cook up,)Who cares?
In the old version she wasn't related to Krystal at all aside from coming from the same planet and I'm pretty sure she is older than her. Probably still a better idea to make Kursed a completly seperate character from Krystal than whatever Command was smoking.Oh, they're going with the evil twin idea. Oh well, they still have time to change this. If they do finish the project.
In Event Horizon Venom actually was a longer established industrial planet where pollution got out of control. Andross developed terraforming technology to improve the atmosphere of his planet, but Corneria didn't trust him to handle a device that can easily destroy the biosphere of other planets and cancelled the development. So, the idea from the A Fox in Space show, then? *It is probably not completely barren, as Big A had to get his material from somewhere....
It's still the same "I'm like you, but evil" cliché, no matter what form it takes. In the old version she wasn't related to Krystal at all aside from coming from the same planet and I'm pretty sure she is older than her. So, white-washing Andross, derp. Can't we have clear cut villains for once? A faction that has a golden retriever as a general can't be physically evil.n Event Horizon Venom actually was a longer established industrial planet where pollution got out of control. Andross developed terraforming technology to improve the atmosphere of his planet, but Corneria didn't trust him to handle a device that can easily destroy the biosphere of other planets and cancelled the development.
I was gonna question General Pepper being a golden retriever, but I guess he does look like one in 64 3D, Zero, and this new remake. Although 64 3D and Zero gave him a really bushy snout more like a schnauzer or terrier. In Assault he had really long, floppy ears and a droopy snout, and is similar Adventure but his ears were brown, and originally in the SNES games he looked like that but with brown and white fur instead of gold fur. Going off his looks in those games, I'm pretty sure he was originally meant to be a bloodhound.A faction that has a golden retriever as a general can't be physically evil.
Yeah, that's what I said? That third picture is even from Assault where I said he looks different. 64 3D and Zero made him look more golden, which makes him more like a golden retriever, but as I said the snout look wrong for it. This new remake makes him look more like a golden retriever, and given it's made by some no name American dev, I'm guessing it's because they were given no notes on what breed he's meant to be and just assumed golden retriever because of the fur color from the past couple games. What in the hell kind of fucked up inbred Goldies are you familiar with because my man that is clearly either a bloodhound or a mastiff of some description.

Yeah it's a cliche, but on the other hand that's also how Star Wolf was concieved. It's still the same "I'm like you, but evil" cliché, no matter what form it takes.
Star Fox always had weird stuff going on, in the original comics Peppy was a telepath, James fused with a magical interdimensional space whale and the SNES game stated that Andross has telekinetic abilities, and even afterwards the series often treats him like some space wizard.I don't like the whole magical nonsense from Adventures still existing in SFox's lore. It's amusingly enough a somewhat grounded sci-fi setting. I can't say it's hard scifi, but besides Krystal, it has no psychic stuff nor magic or Jedi stand-ins, unlike Star Trek.
For what's it worth, Andross still seems like the bigger bitch and it is implied they already started to have beef beforehand, so Pepper didn't want that his deranged former friend who turned himself into a dictator runs around with an interplanetary weapon of mass destruction. So, white-washing Andross, derp. Can't we have clear cut villains for once? A faction that has a golden retriever as a general can't be physically evil.
Yeah alright that's on me I didn't read the entire post and went off half cocked. Sorry.Yeah, that's what I said?
